They are using new machines in Kane County, and there were some challenges at my polling place (I was there shortly after opening); my wife went a bit later and said things were going much better.

Voted at 8am in southwest burbs, low turn out #17. Only one minimal impact community referendum and not much else on the ballot.

Voted at South Fork Church in rural Rochester. At 7:45 I was the sixth voter, first Dem ballot.

In 12 congressional district, 110 State Rep district, largest town and they highest percent voting population on 13 votes in three precincts all Republican as of 9 a.m. Knee jerk reaction is that low turnout better for Bost, as Bailey will need to run up score in this area.

I was voter #16 at 8:30. Only 2 contested races on the ballot.

Gonna be a slow day. Calm before the storm of ‘26 if we get the cascading vacancies a certain retirement would trigger.
