super slow in my north side chicago neighborhood at multiple locations.

  2. - Itsjustme - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 9:40 am:

We have three precincts in our polling place (Springfield) and we’re just now up to 18 voters total. I’m learning a lot about my fellow election judges. It’s gonna be a long day. =)

  3. - thunderspirit - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 9:41 am:

Very slow in far east Leyden Township. Fewer than 25 voters in the four-precinct polling place.

I have little doubt there’s a vote-by-mail element to that.

  4. - Nearly Normal - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 9:55 am:

As of 9:00 a.m. we had only 28 voters. Really s-l-o-w in north Normal.. Early voting is down as well.

  5. - Candy Dogood - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:07 am:

If Matthew Hall wins in the 110th House District, I suggest the creation of a golden horseshoe for best beard in the legislature.

  6. - Annonin' - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:08 am:

We voted just after 8 at a multi precinct polling place. One election worker noted his precinct just had the 3rd voter. Surprising since GOPies have hot 3-way for the IL Senate. Maybe GOPie voters have been driven away by the pig?

  7. - Mike K - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:08 am:

The vote-by-mail disparity seen in the last several general elections was likely due to the MAGA skepticism. While good field will generate more vote-by-mail than straight media campaigns, the likelihood of dramatic changes in vote totals tonight vs. tomorrow are unlikely to be dramatic within the respective primaries.

  8. - train111 - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:14 am:

Winfield 11 - far Western DuPage.

    Dismally slow.
Since Presidential is decided, first contested race for the GOP is State Assembly. First contested race for Dems - DuPage County Coroner.

Incredibly sleepy primary in my parts.

    Train111

  9. - Northsider - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:26 am:

I voted early by mail, a process that couldn’t have been easier. Outside of judicial races and Chicago’s referendum, there weren’t many contested elections, though.

  10. - One Term - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:42 am:

North side. Three other people, two went in to vote just for BCH. Skipping everything else.

  11. - RNUG - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:42 am:

Extremely slow on South side of Springfield with multiple Capitol precincts in one polling place.

  12. - RNUG - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:44 am:

    - Itsjustme -

Sounds we’re working the same place.

  13. - Route 50 Corridor - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 10:53 am:

In 12 congressional district, 110 State Rep district largest town and largest polling place is running 120 voters at 1030. Roughly 5%.

  14. - Jerry - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:00 am:

    Elvis just voted here.

  15. - Itsjustme - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:03 am:

RNUG that would be hilarious. How the coffee?

  16. - Redbird Pundit - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:05 am:

Got to my polling place in champaign county at 7:45am, my wife and I were the only people there.

  17. - Joe Bidenopolous - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:06 am:

Just voted, north side, 40th ward, 24th voter. Assuming a lot voted early so no idea what that says about turnout

  18. - Harold’s Ghost - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:17 am:

Slow in the 31st district, but decent amount of Flowers voters and voters angry over Crawford’s mail are showing up. A few have mentioned Speaker Welch by name and not in a flattering way either.

  19. - Friendly Bob Adams - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:19 am:

I was the only voter in the place this morning. Did not get a count of voters. Not much on the ballot- one judge contest and one county board contest.

  20. - RNUG - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:20 am:

    == How the coffee? ==

Good. I made it the church kitchen. Think we’re on the 3rd or 4th pot.

  21. - Patti - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:36 am:

Can’t speak to today but voted early a week ago at the Loop super site; was the only voter there at lunchtime. I am a little stunned that so few Chicago-area voters care about the race to replace Kim Foxx.

  22. - Grandson of Man - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 11:41 am:

Voted early, also watching info and per the news turnout is low, providing an obvious reason (uncompetitive presidential race for Democrats). The Biden backlash may not be so intense as to overcome the apathy.

  23. - Itsjustme - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 12:17 pm:

@ RNUG #tmw you realize you’re in the same room as another CapFax commenter

  24. - RNUG - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 12:29 pm:

    Figured as much.

As you can guess, I’m the one representing the church here.

  25. - Rahm's Parking Meter - Tuesday, Mar 19, 24 @ 12:32 pm:

In southern BG and northern AH, the signs barely showed up let alone voters.
