Tuesday, Jan 11, 2011 - Posted by Rich Miller *** UPDATE *** I didn’t watch the BlueRoomStream video of last night’s Inauguration party until after I had posted these videos. This one is a must-watch. Attorney General Lisa Madigan gets her groove on… Who knew she could dance like that? * Two Republicans who wanted to be governor, but came up short attended the governor’s inauguration yesterday. First up, Sen. Bill Brady… Thoughts? * Other vids…

Too bad Republicans couldn’t produce a real plan and instead chose to hide behind the need to wait for a “forensic audit.” Maybe one of those R guys would have been doing the first dance last night.
Voters chose bad leadership over no leadership. Not unreasonable.
- UnionsWonItForQuinn - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 9:59 am:
Choosing absolutely failed leadership over change of any kind IS unreasonable.
Sen. Dillard: If you want to reserve the death penalty for only the most heinous murderers, who do you think is being sentenced to death currently?! Jaywalkers?
- wordslinger - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 10:37 am:
Points to Brady and Dillard for gracious and civil tones.
But like the man from Liverpool said:
“You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan”

What happened to the Lisa dance video?
- JGatz - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 10:57 am:
Did anyone else catch Dillard slip and say ‘Governor Spin’ at the 1.30 mark? At least provided me with a chuckle.
- tiny dancer - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 11:27 am:
Go Lisa! She sure didn’t get those moves from Mike.
- Barton Lorimor - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 11:34 am:
Brady sat right behind Dillard at the inauguration.
- Ghost of John Brown - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 12:20 pm:
Yeah, Lisa’s dancing is interesting, but I was more impressed with Jesse White. I hope I can move like that when I’m his age.
- Meanderthal - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 12:27 pm:
Lisa’s dance reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine sees a video of herself dancing and is mortified.
- Aaron - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 12:38 pm:
Meanderthal, that episode would be The Little Kicks and at first, Elaine doesn’t think she is a bad dancer.
- Honest Abe - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 12:46 pm:
Meandrethal,
You beat me to it. Lisa Madigan reminded me of Elaine on the “Seinfeld” program.
Ghost of John Brown,
I thought Jesse White was moving pretty well for a man approaching eighty.
In terms of the music, was Pat Quinn “Keeping the Seventies Alive” to remind us of a time when he was seen as an up and coming politician? “Saturday Night Fever” tunes in 2010?
- Honest Abe - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 12:47 pm:
2011 — Oops!
- 32nd Ward Roscoe Village - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 1:50 pm:
Was that someone kissing Jessie White’s ring?
- Ghost of John Brown - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 5:39 pm:
Honest Abe - that was basically what I was saying - Giving Mr. White some accolades.
- amalia - Tuesday, Jan 11, 11 @ 11:33 pm:
anyone know the name of the band? Once upon a time there was a band around Chicago made up of, I believe, Water Department employees…..
- Rambler - Wednesday, Jan 12, 11 @ 5:05 am:
She’s mighty mightay, jus’ lettin’ it all hang out.
maybe a future campaign slogan
