I realized that it’s been about 10 years since I started following this blog. I was really into the 2014 gubernatorial election and I stumbled upon this. I don’t think I’ve missed more than two or three days since then. So much of my passion work is owed to what I read here.
Thanks, Rich, and now Isabel, for your work.
Got soaked in our part of the 217. Have to say it was needed as the soil was getting pretty dry. You could see dust clouds kicking up from the guys turning soil in the fields last week.
Low Level, they want the new stadium to increase the value for a potential sale. Until then, we can all enjoy the pitching of upstanding citizen Mike Clevinger….
They had to stop the Sox game because no one came out to coach first base. They picked someone to fill in, but then couldn’t find a helmet that fit that person.
It’s almost funny, but also kind of sad how incompetent the whole enterprise has become.
Just came across an extremely nasty and factually incorrect tweet from a Richard Goldberg attacking Chef Jose Andres, founder of World Central Kitchen charity (which just had 7 of its humanitarian relief workers killed by IDF in Gaza) and had to check if was THE Rich Goldberg of “grass bowl” fame. It was.
Playing “Guess the season” in the 60827, as we go from 60’s to 30’s, rain to snow to wind etc., etc.
Village of Dolton drama continues; multiple news reports of a board meeting interrupted by a threat, and then the meeting space was deemed too small by Trustees for the public so Trustees cancelled the meeting fearing an OMA violation.

I cancelled my evening plans because we were in a level 3 area of weather concern, but all we got was rain (and lots of it). Oh well

White Sox are horrible. No new stadium without ownership change.

That reminds me of Bill Veeck’s “Grandstand Managers Night” with the St. Louis Browns. Aug. 24, 1951, only 5 days after the Eddie Gaedel game.
