Comedy tonight

Thursday, Dec 11, 2008

* If you didn’t see The Daily Show last night, you should defintely watch now…

They missed the point.

“How’s Tony doing? [Scene cut] The Iraqi guy? You gonna talk to him today about the other stuff?”

“Tony”? He’s doing an imaginary deal involving Rezko on camera? And the Iraqi guy? Auchi, perhaps? [Rewritten on advice from Larry.]

* Here’s more from last night…

* Letterman’s Rod Blagojevich news recap…

* Not really comedy, but I loved the introduction: A super, red-hot, crazy unbelievable freakshow of a scandal…

* Now, this is comedy gold, but it’s rated “R,” so don’t click it if you’re easily offended: If They IM’d: Rod Blagojevich and his cronies

* Oof.

* And some funny shirts.

    Hey Rich, can we start the “when the movie is made, who will play _______” game???
    Is it too soon to start this game?
    Come on, it’s just a matter of time before the book, then movie is made.

    Here is a start:

    Rod — Charlie Sheen
    First Lady — Jessica Biel
    L. Peters — Whoopi
    B. Greenlee — Dean Cain
    J. Wyma — Michael J. Fox
    L. Monk — Jon Cryer (2 and half men)

    (btw — Rich, I completely agree with you that folks are completely overblowing the patty potty-mouth angle. It’s totally sexist — why is there a headline “first lady with foul mouth” when he & all the advisor/ lobbyists, etc. use the same colorful language. Why single her out?
    Seems to me that it’s sexist.)

    So, now we’ve seen this angle in the sun-times, right now on MSNBC, and countless others.
    It’s silly.

    I liked this Maddow clip with the reenactment of Blagojevich’s statements from the transcript better.

    BTW, I think she is having Fritchey on MSNBC later in her show this hour. She just promo’d having an Illinois rep who is drafting impeachment articles.
