An anonymous person in the Quad Cities saw my repeated requests that somebody start a microblog for that region. The Inside Dope is the result. So far, so good.

That’s all well and good — but what happened to the Will County Hairspray blog? It’s been down for a full day now. Could it be that the big whigs at the Herald News found out their reporters were working on it while at work? And, not only that, they were taking potshots of the H-N bosses on the site.
Good news from the Quad Cities … sometimes they feel a little “forgottonia” up there so this will help connect some political voices throughout the Mississippi River Valley.
One of the nation’s hottest congressional races will be just across the river, in Davenport, with an open seat opportunity for Democrats and a 50-50 district.
… and as a special introductory offer for all Inside Dope visitors, the Dope is giving away little Blagojevich campaign sponges that expand in water. Fun for the whole family. One per customer, not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Supplies are limited. (I have two around here somewhere)
Lynn Sweet just plugged “the Illinois political blogs” on Chicago Tonight. Name checks to: Archpundit, Austin Mayor, Crossblog and the Leader. Where were ya Rich?!
