More on the troubles
Tuesday, Apr 5, 2005 - Posted by Rich Miller This excerpt from a recent AP story provides another example of what I was talking about in this morning’s Capitol Fax. Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a Chicago Democrat, has praised Chicago Mayor Richard Daley’s gun-control efforts, but he has been criticized by gun-control advocates for doing nothing to prevent their bills from being rejected by committees this year while proposals to let Illinoisans carry concealed handguns have advanced. If the people ever truly catch on to what reporters, insiders and just about everyone else knows about the guv, he’s in big trouble.

A bit of a biased statement, dont ya think, Rich? Blagojevich has remained consistent on guns. Just because the lobbyist at the state police opposed something he supported (or the other way around) doesnt mean that he has changed his position? While the police are part of the adminsitration, they are the least influenced by the govs office. I know that you know that — right? Why dont you just admint that you have a problem with blago, instead of creating these stories where no story exsists? Try journalism for a change.

I’ve got an internal memo on this topic, but forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me.

Miller was just quoting the AP and adding his own insights. The AP said he is viewed as inconsistent, not Miller.

One can only hope that “the people” catch on to what insiders etc. know. If the public could really get a glimpse of the chaos that reigns in state government, they’d be fleeing the state.
And what’s the real story on the resignation at CMS? Is this the first fleeing from a sinking ship?

Blago fudged his position in the election to get downstate support.
McKeon is right he is untrustworthy.

10:06, miller insights are precisely what im talking about. his editorializing here is a bit much. you made my point — real journalists dont print garbage like that.

Excuse me, but Mr. Miller is very fair. Many times he has squelched falsities post to this site. The people who should be ashamed are the brainless monkeys pouring out reams of “press releases” from the govs office. What a load of crap published from that, that, that…
