Rockford mayor offered job…

But he’s not talking about it.
Outgoing Mayor Doug Scott is contemplating a job offer from his friend Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Sen. Dave Syverson, R-Rockford, said Thursday that Scott has told him the Blagojevich administration is putting the finishing touches on an offer.
“He said they were just finalizing some kind of a proposal or something, but he didn’t say where it was going to be at outside of it probably being something in the governor’s office,” Syverson told the Rockford Register Star. “But he didn’t talk about what it was.” […]
In an interview Thursday, Scott said he “can’t really talk about” offers from Blagojevich, except that he has been presented with “some very interesting concepts and proposals and things like that” and wants to remain involved in public service.
Like I said before, I hope they don’t stick him in some agency job where his advice is ignored forever and is only contacted when the budget office wants more money (which is always).

Maybe he’ll be put in charge of improving ethics, be the liaison or the like to promote ethics to the entire state. Like that Reyes woman was hired to promote I Save Rx. Another good use of our money down the drain. $55,000 per year to promote a doomed program, to encourage state workers to push the Gov’s agenda. I thought that’s what he had all those deputy governors and spokespeople for.
