I’m not sure I believe this yet, but…

Maybe now we know why Mrs. Blagojevich was checking into swimming lessons in Springfield…
Gov. Rod Blagojevich will stay in Springfield for the duration of the special session he has called to try to break the impasse over a multibillion-dollar budget, a spokeswoman said Wednesday. […]
Blagojevich had been making daily round trip flights from Chicago to Springfield - costing taxpayers about $5,800 a day. However, he plans to stay in Springfield for the entire special session, spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff said Wednesday.

Should had been staying in Springfield throughout the month of June…and I see he completely WUSSED OUT of that hearing with Madigan like the gutless coward he is cause he knows he couldn’t defend his ridicious plans.

Crimefighter,
Now, that was a mature comment. Go write some parking tickets!
- Crimefighter - Thursday, Jul 5, 07 @ 9:29 am:
It was a FACTUALLY ACCURATE comment.

Go get ‘em, Bill. Could be a long day for you, man.

After having her 40 something child at home for several months on end, I’m betting Patti is welcoming his absence for a few days. However, I’m not convinced that he still won’t fly back and forth and spend evenings in Blagoland. He said he would be in Springfield for the duration of the budget negotiations. Unless I missed it, I haven’t read where he says he will sleep in Springfield. Anything Blago says must be dissected word by word to understand HIS meaning of things, and then it’s a real challenge to do so.

I’ve heard - not sure if this is true or not - that Springfield’s water class and lifeguarding instructors are vastly inferior to those in Chicago. Of course, this is in part due to the fact that our instructors are not only south of I-88 but that they do not charge an arm and a leg for their expertise. Plus, God forbid the young Blago girls would go to a pool at the Y down the street. The horror of being with Springfield children!

Anon, I’ve not heard of any drownings in Springfield because of poor lifeguard performance.

Then again, IF GRyan had only had a pool installed at the Executive Mansion like he first wanted to do, things may have been a lot different - NOT. I’m confident Mr. and Mrs. Public Official A would have come up with another excuse.

Anon: I’m pretty sure you mean I-80.

Well, I guess we know who wears the big boy pants in the family!!

It will be interesting to see if he actually stays at the Mansion or the Crown Plaza (which is where he usually stays in Springfield)

“Gov. Rod Blagojevich will stay in Springfield for the duration of the special session…”
Yeah, but don’t you just wonder what ‘will stay in Springfield for the duration’ actually MEANS to Hairdo?

So, wwere did he spend the night?

This stay in Springfield will be a bigger punishment for the Blago family than the legislature.
Rich I’m hearing I-Dot is getting extremely worried about the budget. Almost all of their road projects include Federal matching funds and there is a date these funds have to be ponied up. We are talking billions of dollars in lost revenue for Illinois. Would Blago let that happen and try to put the blame on Madigan ?
