High School graduation rates don’t matter if they are attendence certificates for too many students.

Mell says ‘law-abiding citizens’ ‘inundated’ his office with calls….would he have listened if he weren’t in such a pickle? Gall is not only on one side of the family….

“Expect a bump in tourism but no events here if Chicago gets the Olympics”
If Chicago gets the Olympics, Springfield’s will be the nearest functional public transportation.

I have a question related to the selection of the city. On who does the responsibility fall to fund the necessary upgrades to the selected city? Can you imagine the taxes levied in Chicago and Cook County if they have to. Would we finally get some funding to fix the ailing infrastructure? I am wondering because, well, we might be down to dirt roads and buckboards by then…..

Good question 618er. I always liked the old dirt roads anyways. I would imagine that the federal government would chip in some money but Chicago and the state need to do some serious planning now about upgrading quite a few things.
