Lauzen already running for congress?
Sunday, Nov 2, 2008 - Posted by Rich Miller * State Sen. Chris Lauzen lost the 14th Congressional District Republican primary against Jim Oberweis last February, but Lauzen’s already gearing up for another bid in 2010. Check out this flier… ![]() I called the contact person on the flier, and he said there were no orders yet from Lauzen about whether this will go ahead if Oberweis wins on Tuesday. There was also no talk of paying off any campaign debt from February’s bid. Lauzen is carrying $254,541 in debt. But this is more about 2010 than 2008. A new
…Adding… The above website is not affiliated with Lauzen, according to Sippil. Oberweis is generally considered the underdog against Democrat incumbent Bill Foster. But announcing a fundraiser before Oberweis’ political body is even officially dead yet is somewhat odd.

Yay, another website that further fractions th IK GIOO and calls names. $250k+ is a lot of debt not to do much about. I though CPA’s were money people?

For someone who complained earlier this year how much money he has lost by staying in politics, he has sure tried to extend his stay.

Why not? Maybe someone with a 5-year old child should start fundraising now for a Congressional run sometime after 2028…

PCK,
Well they are 7 and 10 but I have been giving it some thought….

Lauzen is a much stronger nominee than Oberweis.
Oberweis will lose 54-46 Tuesday. Lauzen wants to retire some debt and make a decision about 10 later.
- chessplayer - Sunday, Nov 2, 08 @ 8:17 pm:
So much for Lauzens term limits commitment, he is political fraud at its highest definition! His claim to fame is a $10,000 stain glass window for a Naperville Fire Barn woowhoo
- Go Sox - Sunday, Nov 2, 08 @ 8:37 pm:
Rich, “somewhat odd” and Lauzen usually go hand-in-hand. Lauzen better focus on his Senate seat. He got smashed by Obe in the primary.
- Red State - Sunday, Nov 2, 08 @ 8:42 pm:
Yippee!! If he runs for Congress, he won’t run for his Senate seat!!! Bummer, no more Sen. CPA to listen to. What will I do with my time now?
- Pot calling kettle - Sunday, Nov 2, 08 @ 10:20 pm:
Or he “considers” a run until he raises enough money to pay off his debt and then decides not to do it after all.
- Pot calling kettle - Sunday, Nov 2, 08 @ 10:22 pm:
And if 5091 friends show up for lunch, he’s clear!

Captain, did you forget to “fall back” last night at World HQ?
- Downstate GOP Faithless - Sunday, Nov 2, 08 @ 10:34 pm:
yea, while i get that people think oberweis will come up short–again–on tuesday, to claim lauzen is a stronger candidate for this office is a bit insane. he got his back side kicked pretty bad in that race. i am not so sure it ets much more off key than that

Rich you still have not landed a paying gig yet? I see all your political consultant wannabee friends can do is trash Senator Lauzen. Hey losers ever think to run for office your selves?

I am hosting a luncheon reception on Tuesday, November 11 at the Union League Club for a senator who will be running for U.S. Congress in 2010. Please reply back for more details.

Lauzen featured Randy Stufflebeam at his Porky Picnic in 2006 when Judy and Joe were struggling to rid us of Blago.
Nuff said.

Chris Lauzen is the only one Jim Oberweis has beaten. What does that say about his electoral prospects?
- GOP'er - Monday, Nov 3, 08 @ 8:04 am:
Chris Lauzen gets the last laugh. Oberweis and his new Hastert handlers go down to defeat again tomorrow.
It’s true. Lauzen would have been a better candidate in the general against Foster.
All Hastert’s henchmen proved is that they can sufficiently smear and outspend a Republican to win a primary. They’re all about taking out reform minded Republicans, they did it to Peter Fitzgerald, and sworn testimony in the Rezko trial alleged Hastert wanted to take out U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald too.
Any candidate who throws in with those dirty misfits deserves to lose.
But they really s*ck when it comes to taking out Democrats.

GOP’er, I agree with you. In Aug. 2007, I said, on several sites, “St. Sen. Lauzen should run for Congress. After he wins, Jim Oberweis should be appointed to Lauzen’s senate seat.”
- Right Field - Monday, Nov 3, 08 @ 10:27 am:
Senator Lauzen introduced Randy Stuffelbeam because he showed up. Joe & Judy didn’t (which shows what kind of campaign they ran). Chris is a gentleman and has always introduced any public officials and candidates that come.
- Stuck with Sen. CPA - Monday, Nov 3, 08 @ 10:35 am:
Chris’ ego knows no bounds.
- VanillaMan - Monday, Nov 3, 08 @ 1:43 pm:
Lauzen is just too mean for his own good.
