Send in the clown
Tuesday, Mar 17, 2009 - Posted by Rich Miller * 7:08 am - Rod Blagojevich is on Don & Roma’s show right now. To listen live, if you can stomach such inanity this early in the morning, click here. The guy still claims that he was forced out of office specifically so that the Democratic legislative leaders could raise taxes. Sheesh. I wonder if Don & Roma will still have Blagojevich on their show after he’s put into prison.

Yeah, of course, we should have just sold the lottery and we wouldn’t be in this mess. Gosh Rod, you’re so smart. And you lowered the deficit, too? Wow. Hijacked? From office?! Golly, there ought to be a law. And all those “special interests” down in Springfield are so evil, that’s why as Governor he decided to shake them down - but good. What a guy!

Rich,
On the FoxNews Channel, they are going to do a “legal” piece on the Gary Skoien incident in the 8-10 am segments…
- OneMan - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 7:57 am:
Yes because he would have found an answer to the budget issues by just selling everything, or perhaps taking the state pension money and making it all general revenue.
Has anyone checked his house perhaps there is a CO leak or something.

Rod who?
- wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 8:10 am:
Such a chatty fellow. I only hope he is as anxious to talk at his trial. Then, I’ll listen.
- Little Egypt - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 8:17 am:
I seem to faintly remember a Blagojevich who held an elected office somewhere. Was he that Senator from…..no, uh, didn’t he run against uh, oh who was that fella he ran against.
- How Ironic - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 8:22 am:
Shouldn’t he be out looking for the “real” culprit who was trying to sell political positions for personal gain?
- Bill - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 8:25 am:
Trial? Jail? Did I miss the indictment?
By the way, what did Rod say that wasn’t true?
- Nearly Normal - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 8:40 am:
WLS must be desperate for ratings. I can’t think of any other reason for having this disgraced man on the air.
Blago adds nothing to the public discourse.
- Bluefish - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 9:08 am:
I think instead of Don and Roma beginning the Blago segments with Elvis’ “A Little Less Conversation” they should play “Jailhouse Rock”.
- Reddbyrd - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 9:12 am:
Don & Roma — The Jerry Springer of Radio. perhaps they should get into a Morons Anonymous chapter quickly.
Blaggo demos his sociopathic leanings —still tampering with th jury pool
BTW Art Institute does not pay real estate taxes
- wordslinger - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 9:14 am:
Bill, sorry to see the old tic is flaring up

A friend of mine conjectured that possibly the reason that RRB didn’t mount a defense at his impeachment trial was he knew the hole the state was in realized the only way out was tax increase and decided to go down the path of “They illegally kicked me out of office” therefore maintaining (in his own mind) his hero status for not raising taxes.
It is sad to see delusional people

The way this nucklehead runs his mouth, after they find him in a trunk at an Ohare parking lot will he qualify for a Darwin Award?
- Phineas J. Whoopee - Tuesday, Mar 17, 09 @ 11:06 am:
Apparently, part of Blago’s clown show is his imitation of The Amazing Criswell-the psychic.
After having destroyed the state, Blago boldly declares, “I told you they would have to fix it.”
What next, Lindsey Lohan will be president?

Reddbyrd: AI is located on Chicago Park District property (like Field, Adler, Shedd, etc.) hence no r/estate taxes.

I can’t believe Rod is still making the media circuit.
Rich,
A question for you. Is Gov Quinn in Springfield and living in the Mansion? In Chicago I am constantly seeing him on the local news, in Chicago.

KH: I suspect Blago’s knowledge of the fast approaching state fiscal train wreck, and the fact that he wasn’t going to be able to hide it any longer, may have been another reason he was frantically wangling for another job late last year. IIRC the federal surveilliance tapes indicate he was hoping to be out of office by the middle of January. (He almost got his wish, albeit not in the way he expected.)
