Quote of the week - Pat Quinn’s Brain speaks
Friday, Aug 20, 2010 - Posted by Rich Miller
* From a Twitter user named Pat Quinn’s Brain…
The theme of my campaign is JOBS, JOBS, J…hey! Look! Squirrel!
* And in a related story….
[Gov. Pat Quinn] brushed aside a question about whether his campaign efforts are too undisciplined. “I have nothing bad to say about anybody,” Quinn said. […]
Quinn, who faces Republican state Sen. Bill Brady, Green Party candidate Rich Whitney and independent candidate Scott Lee Cohen on the Nov. 2 ballot, said he wants to ensure his message gets throughout Illinois, saying voters are interested in jobs.
“That’s what I want to focus on,” said Quinn, adding he has “a lot of message work to do, especially on ads.”
* Let’s go back to Pat Quinn’s Brain for react…
Screw AKPD. No one knows how to run statewide better than me! Look to my last general election victory in 1990 for evidence!

Rich, are you Pat Quinn’s Brain? ‘Fess up, son.
- Rich Miller - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 3:41 pm:
Nope.
Like I have time to do that.

Has anyone on here known PQ for a long time? Like since childhood? Just curious. Did he do a lot of wiggling around in his seat in 3rd grade? Did he write about rock climbing in his junior high essay answers when the teacher’s question had to do with the new deal?

I rarely comment, but can we have the video “Basketball Star” from the movie “Being There” as your song to close out the week?
- P. Symth - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:09 pm:
It does not seem to me that Pat Quinn has a good campaign strategy. The “lets throw everything at the wall and see what sticks” routine will probably backfire on him.
Love the squirrel comment, fits to a “T”

I don’t understand how the same democratic electorate that installed Rod Blagojevich into power twice is so hard on Pat Quinn. I am a fairly loyal republican voter, but if I were a Dem, I could see myself voting for Quinn. Seems like a regular guy that wants the best for people.
Someone explain….
- Rich Miller - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:16 pm:
===Seems like a regular guy that wants the best for people. ===
Except to most people he doesn’t. That’s the problem.
- Levois - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:20 pm:
How does not having anything bad to say about anyone equate to having an undisciplined campaign? He avoided the issue.
- Rich Miller - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:23 pm:
Levois, that was the funniest line in the whole post as far as I’m concerned. Oh, look, a kitty!
- Cubs2010 - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:32 pm:
There is one undisciplined person on his campaign: him.
- Cincinnatus - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:34 pm:
Cubs2010,
Is your pseudonym even allowed on CapFax? Rich?
- Nearly Normal - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 4:39 pm:
Cinci,
Leave the poor fella alone. He’s suffered enough this year.
- Capitol View - Friday, Aug 20, 10 @ 8:24 pm:
Quinn is really irrelevant in the upcoming election. Once the word gets out on Brady’s anti-women, anti-legal and other immigrant, and certainty that the universe was created 6000 years ago, the voters will want to have nothing to do with him.
He was Tea Party before Dick Armey created that movement.
- Capitol View - Sunday, Aug 22, 10 @ 9:48 pm:
Pat Quinn turned his brain “on” again on Saturday, and fired his political advertising firm. It was one of Illinois’ best, but obviously it was not doing an adequate job for Quinn - although its inaction is consistent with my electoral advice to run on Brady’s record as we approach Election Day, and not seek pro-Quinn recognition in August and September…

WGN reporting that Stermer resigned because he was using his state em ail account to send and received emails from political consultants.
- P. Symth - Tuesday, Aug 24, 10 @ 9:11 am:
All I have to say is under-promise and over-deliver; however Quinn has promised the moon and has barely delivered a moon-pie.
