I don’t think that’s a land shark. I’m pretty sure it’s someone from Western Union.
- shore - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 12:35 pm:
There are lots of bush/palin costumes on sale right now. Don’t know why alexi hasn’t had an intern stalking kirk with one all year.
- OneMan - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 12:40 pm:
I am so glad Bill Foster is making the case to vote for him….
- The Captain - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 12:48 pm:
The Sharks got swept out of town by the Hawks. Go back to San Jose where you belong.

Personal PAC ad would be a lot more effective if the line “Brady would seek to outlaw abortion” as governor were actually true. Ready, fire, aim! Wow. That’s a pretty big mistake to make with your only real shot.
- Skeeter - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 12:55 pm:
Great to see that NBC thinks some guy dressed up in a costume in worth two minutes. No wonder nobody watches NBC.
- Really?? - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 1:14 pm:
I saw the shark guy first hand. Nobody walking by had any idea what he was talking about or why he was dressed up as a shark. As another piece of information, he had also spelled Miami incorrectly (Miamii). It seems on the footage later in the day he tried to fix it by turning the second “i” into an exclamation point. All in all, not a very effective protest.

Has Halvorson run out of money? Her negative Social Security spot used to rule the airwaves. Haven’t seen it in a while.
Small point, but what’s the point of the Chamber asking that folks call her congressional office? Is that their “issue advocacy” out? The negative spots on Alexi, Kirk and others paid by outside groups don’t have a similar call-to-action.
- Rich Miller - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 1:46 pm:
Word, it’s an IE. That’s how they do it.
- Rich Miller - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 1:47 pm:
Skeeter, Channel 5 only had a few seconds of the guy. The Kirk folks added the rest to the end.
- dave - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 1:52 pm:
Isn’t Personal PAC one of those evil groups with undisclosed donors?
Personal PAC is, well, a PAC. PACs are required to disclose their donors.
- RobRoy - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 2:47 pm:
The Debbie Halvorson ad is hilarious right at the end where her eyebrow raises….OMG..
- ANON - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 2:48 pm:
Channel 5 said the guy was from the State Republicans didn’t she? Interesting idea, lightens the mood a bit, but keeps the issue alive in the media. I wonder if this was just a one time thing
- spelling bee - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 3:19 pm:
i heard the guy who wrote miami said “i misremembered it wrong.”
- sal-says - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 3:35 pm:
I suspect the ‘Miamii’ is supposed to make this look real? Puleeze.
- just sayin' - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 3:43 pm:
good to see illinois republicans still operating at 3rd grade level. clowns.
- J - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 4:17 pm:
Anyone else watch the Seals-Dold debate above?
Dold really looked petty and uncomfortable. Also, I don’t get why he kept pivoting back to his stump speech when the moderator kept cutting him off because of it.
- Liandro - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 6:24 pm:
All I really have to say to Foster’s ad is that I voted early just because I couldn’t wait to vote against him. It was my easiest vote by a wide, wide margin. Hultgren is solid, and Foster has had nothing left but smears for some time now.
Also, I love costumes. Maybe the guy was just practicing his Halloween threads? It’s that time of year, ya know.
@RobRoy: I think reading your comment before watching the ad made Halverson’s eyebrow even funnier. Anticipation factor, I guess, lol.
@just sayin’: Good one! *high five*
- Amalia - Wednesday, Oct 20, 10 @ 6:39 pm:
bless you Personal PAC for all that you do!
- Kent - Thursday, Oct 21, 10 @ 7:36 am:
We do not need Hultgren, a toxic asset salesman, who is one of main players and works for millionaires (23% national sale tax so that rich people don’t have to pay tax?) to get us into this economic mess in congress.
There is a reason why Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald and Chicago SunTimes all enthusiastically endorsed Foster.
