Downstate republican state workers should be furious at Radagno for her comments to the unions about supporting the pension holidays. Yes, she made the point Republicans were right but that doesn’t excuse pushing the debt onto the backs of workers and retirees.
The Bost rant is on “Inside Edition”? Actually, it’s nothing compared to those clips I remember seeing years ago of bench-clearing, knockdown brawls on the floor of the Taiwanese (or maybe it was South Korean?) national assembly…

Easy for Madigan to say he would take the COLA with his salary- the little guy is screwed….
My concern is that when most retirees do what he said he’d do, namely keep the 3% COLA and give up health insurance, the legislature will come back later and emasculate the COLA anyway.

“RT @cwetterich: Madigan is 70 so he can already get Medicare.”
which begs the question why do the feds pay for insurance for public robber barons?
Reformer your right they have to go back after the pension again now that they aren’t shifting the cost of paying the pension debt to the local governments a slight change in the cola doesn’t save them 80 billion. Looks like Cross is going to take the gop down for with a worthless pension reform bill, Madigan is pretty slick.

The reason given for excluding judges is LAME! Are the Legislator’s Retirement Benefits and Health Care being included in the proposal in SB1673?

I just drove home through downtown Springfield and every parking lot around the Capitol is almost packed and the lights are on in all the buildings.

No matter what I pick, I don’t trust them. They’ll pull health care later, or they’ll pull the COLA later, or whatever.
I’ll take the plan that includes my infrequent raises, because that’s the only part that I can count on right now.
