* The Daily Herald surveyed Democratic National Convention delegates about Gov. Pat Quinn’s political future and job performance…
In a Daily Herald survey, Illinois convention delegates gave him passing grades, with 80 percent saying he should be the party’s 2014 nominee and 20 percent suggesting someone else. […]
In the Daily Herald survey of party faithful attending this week’s convention in Charlotte, 40 percent of respondents gave Quinn a “B” grade for his time in office. Another 25 percent assigned him an “A” and more, 28 percent, gave him a “C.”
Fifty-one Democrats responded to the survey, out of 214 total delegates.
On the question about Democrats’ 2014 nominee, several among the 20 percent who want an alternative to Quinn named names, listing Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon.
Twenty-one respondents skipped that survey question, compared to 30 who answered it.

Surveying the choir …

I want to know who said Sheila Simon should be Governor. Her chief of staff?
- John D. - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 10:46 am:
23.8% of people surveyed bothered to respond… is that even enough to call it a representative sample? My statistical analysis functions must be a little rusty.

Doesn’t sound like a lot of support for Quinn to me.
- Wensicia - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 11:03 am:
Seems like not that many chose to take the survey; a statement in itself?
- bullet53 - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 11:04 am:
fill out the survey, they are to busy having fun on someone else’s dime .
- state worker - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 11:13 am:
was Quinn standing next to them when they voted?
- Cassiopeia - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 11:24 am:
The fact that over 3/4 didn’t complete the survey is the real story.
Quinn has 859 days left until someone else comes in to clean up after Blago and him.

And the purpose of this survey is what?
- muon - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 11:53 am:
The low turnout for the survey may be the story. The Republicans responded with almost twice the rate that the Democrats did. That’s a statistically significant difference.
- WazUp - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 1:15 pm:
The survey was conducted right after Quinn yelled “drinks are on me”.
- Excessively Rabid - Tuesday, Sep 4, 12 @ 3:42 pm:
The dems don’t have anybody better. Either the GOP runs somebody acceptable to the mainstream or we get yet another four years of Quinn. I guess it could be worse, but I’m not sure how without Blago entering into it somehow….

Quinn v. Rutherford, eh?

These are the same people who gave us Rod Blagojevich for a second term. Were any of them from south of I-80?
