Tyler Harber, a spokesman for Now or Never PAC, confirmed that changes are being made to a commercial set to run on Chicago cable and broadcast stations criticizing Duckworth’s tenure as director of the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs. He described those changes, however, as minor. […]
“We made no substantive or topical changes to the ad,” Harber said in an email. “The ad conveys the same message as before. We were not asked to take out any of the arguments we made in the ad. It is not unusual to make minor adjustments to ads. People who see the first version and the second version will notice virtually no difference whatsoever.” […]
Duckworth’s campaign first became aware of the ad after it received a “tip” from a source at WLS-TV, spokeswoman Kaitlin Fahey said, that the ad did not pass muster from the station’s legal department. Stations often ask for additional documentation when they vet political ads, The campaign then began contacting other area TV stations. Sources at WBBM said the ad was on “hold” until they were told it was being recut.
Other stations did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
The commercials from the $405,000 ad buy are set to air over the next week.

The Democrats didn’t take this guy seriously two years ago and he won. They’ve been spiking the ball in the endzone for months. It’s obviously costing them.

Yes Walsh is well lets say flawed, but people have realized duckworth USA pawn for Rahm.

Joe Klein is really smart and I have a lot of respect for journalists that have his amount of experience, but he’s extremely liberal in his point of view and it’s not like he’s a neutral national ap reporter showing up giving his take. You don’t see many nyc or dc based reporters showing up and praising the independence of tea party congressmen or willingness to trash a republican establishment people like klein hated on.
There are mixed views on super pacs and funding of campaigns, but walsh has earned every dime of help he’s getting from conservative groups. Like him or hate him, he went all out for the right, and the support he’s getting is what’s supposed to happen.
Durbin has a lot of guts blaming dold for the problems in dc. the senate #2 has a lot more say in what happens than a moderate house backbencher.

Uh Oh Walsh spills the Ryan/Romney tax plan details that they are trying to hide. Without these deductions being lost for all taxapyers, their arithmetic doesn’t work.

Any fool that wants to eliminate the mortgage interest or local taxes deduction might as well advocate killing the housing industry and community foundation of homeownership outright.
We can become a nation of renters, dependent upon the charitable spirit of the landlord.
Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan and Jack Kemp would plotz over such talk.
Aspiration for owning a home is what drives the domestic economy. It’s why people save, it’s why they look to make more money.
They buy a home, they furnish it, they fix it up, they have kids, they sweat the schools and local government, they build equity, they flip it and start it all over again.
Despite the bubble and the clawing back, homeownership, long-term, is the ballgame when it comes to sustainable prosperity.

Walsh is a kook. You don’t convince those considering to vote for him based on any arguments made by liberal hacks like Klein. You want normal balanced folks making that case because liberals are already voting for Duckworth.

Funny - I own a house and don’t claim an interest deduction. Of course, I don’t get in over my head with mortgage interest high enough to deduct! Also, since when is Dold TEA Party Senator Durbin? Just because a guy won in 2010 doesn’t earn him that label.
