Just got word on good authority, and have updated Trial Balloons, that Scott Lee Cohen has decided not to run for Treasurer. Thought you’d like to know.
Scott Lee Cohen is perhaps the only person in recent Illinois history, whose flaws are so obvious that even the Illinois Democratic party would not back him.
I had little idea he want to try running for something statewide again. Perhaps I was so out of the loop it was ridiculous. Didn’t he attempt to run for a state legislative seat last year?
Haven’t heard “boo” on Jason’s intentions, but if Bost stays and does run against Enyart, does Jason run statewide again? Can Jason run for Bost’s seat? With all of Jason’s houses, I don’t know if he is in Bost’s district…
“Leader Cross, this is Jason Plummer, reporting to run for the Illinois Congresshouse!”
Don’t worry, even without Cohen there will be plenty of other unworthy candidates who will win to confirm most Illinois Democrat voters are complete fools.
- Give Me A Break - Tuesday, Jul 23, 13 @ 2:41 pm:
Pretty sure he passed this up because he is anticipating a call from a candidate for Gov asking him to join the ticket. Or a call from Simon to carry the banjo case.
Oh well, I guess I’ll have to vote for Lar Daley now.

Hey the so-called ‘pros’ can say whatever they want ..but ..the FACT is that Scott Lee Cohen WON the nomination for Lt. Gov. fair and square. What happened afterwards IS how the democratic party works in IL.
Hey, Realist, you may or may not recall the 2 LaRouchies who won nomination for statewide office years ago. Prompted the dem party to abandon the party to re-ignite the Solidarity Party so as to avoid complications.
Today New York City is making us look really boring. Please someone, please talk Scott into changing his mind. We need this kind of entertainment to even come close to Anthony Weiner.

==Thought you’d like to know==
Thank you. And ALL THE REST OF ILLINOIS!! I, for one, SERiously just can’t fathom, after his self-created FIASCO in 2010, where the guy ever even got even some kind of the reMOTEST sort of inkling that We the People of Illinois, would EVER AGAIN take HIM seriously and give a hoot, let alone even an ounce of weight of consideration to nominating, let alone ELECTING him to anything!!! I couldn’t even trust to vote for him as local Dog Catcher…!
Hey the so-called ‘Realist’ can say whatever they want ..but ..the FACT is that Scott Lee Cohen RESIGNED the nomination for Lt. Gov. fair and square. What happened afterwards IS how the democratic party works in IL.

@ Jeff Twigg -
You mean, the Republicon Party voters will nominate someone electable this time? LOL
P.S. dude - as long as you guys continue with the “Democrat Party” silliness (that’s improper grammar, btw) I’m going to go with RepubliCON Party (as in con artist). When you return to proper usage of the term, let us know.
low level - Its complete foolery on your part to assume I’m a Republican, but thanks for reinforcing my point. As for respecting the word democrat, Illinois Democrats have no room to talk, especially about piddly little grammar.
25 years without one independent able to get on the ballot and election laws that violated the 1st and 14th Amendments of the US Constitution. When the Illinois Democrats get rid of everyone responsible for those anti-democratic, immoral, discriminatory, and illegal election laws, let me know, you might finally have a case to be heard about proper grammar. If Illinois Democrats don’t respect the word democracy, why should anyone else?
1986 was when the two LaRouche candidates were selected by Illinois Democrat voters. Complete fools. And Stevenson only went with the Solidarity Party banner AFTER he tried to get on the ballot as an Independent, but couldn’t because of our discriminatory, anti-democratic ballot access election laws. Illinois Democrats have a long history of disrespecting the very name of their party, and some people still want to complain about grammar? Fools.

But which independent candidate for that office will come in third or fourth place now?
- Spliff - Tuesday, Jul 23, 13 @ 1:37 pm:
I hope that means he is being tapped by Daley or Raoul to be Lt. Gov.
- Aldyth - Tuesday, Jul 23, 13 @ 1:40 pm:
