She is a junior litigator at the law firm Stern, Lockhart & Gardner, trying to juggle both home and professional life with the ongoing scandal surrounding her husband with whom she has two children, Zach and Grace.
She excels at keeping a cool exterior. She is rarely ruffled and almost always thinks through what she is going to say, choosing her words for maximum impact or sting.
She graduated from Georgetown University law school in the mid-1990s. After graduation she worked at Crozier, Abrams & Abbott.
If “Too Obvious” is correct, I would have to agree that Bill Brady was using his head on this particular choice. Rezin is one of those individuals in politics that is actually qualified for the position. She is definitely one of the more intelligent people down in Springfield. She is a compassionate conservative that is widely respected by members of both political parties down in Springfield. Choosing Rezin is much like choosing a Sheila Simon from the standpoint that neither of these women carries any negative political baggage with them. Both women are highly respected by the Republican Party and the Democrat Party, both women are extremely intelligent, both are held in high-regard by the state’s women voters, and both exhibit the social compassion that Illinois voters are looking for in our state government. She would be an excellent choice for either Brady or Rauner. I was always amazed that Rutherford overlooked a woman like Rezin for his running-mate and instead went with Steve Kim? Steve Kim is a nice guy but he has very little name recognition (despite having run against Lisa years ago). The women’s vote will be critical in this election. Rezin has proven to be an excellent speaker before a crowd. She is financially independent and votes her conscience on the issues. That part is not lost on the Illinois voters. It is rare to see an elected official vote against their own Party’s dictates but Rezin does so when she feels her party is wrong. Both Sheila Simon and Sue Rezin were cut out of the same cloth when it came to “doing the right thing” regardless of partisan politics.
@TheDragonsBreath - As a woman who makes up the “crucial” womans vote, why should I vote for a gubernatorial nominee based on how much that nominees powerless subordinate has in common with/appeals to me as a woman/person. I know next to nothing about either Steve Kim or Sue Rezin but I am curious where these women exist who are going to vote for Dillard/Rauner/Rutherford/Brady based on their lite gov choices? I mean I can understand a lite gov choice making you vote AGAINST someone, but for?
Some of these gag guesses for Lt. Gov. is hilarious. JJJ, Carole Moseley Braun, Miley Cyrus, his wife, Jason Plummer in a wig with a different name??? OMG I’m laughing so hard right now!
Alas I won’t even pretend to guess who he chooses, but he may want to reach out to someone in the Chicago area. Hopefully help him get more votes in the region.
I think Jennifer Pritzker is a repub. That would at least make it interesting to see how it would effect the other Pritzkers who are reliable big time dem backers. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure this would go over like a lead balloon in a GOP primary though.
Roseanne Barr 1) to capitalize on the “Baar” name recognition in Illinois, and 2) because she’s still a bit confused about the “Green Tea Party” party (close enough, I suppose).
Oh, come on. Admit it. It’d be interesting to watch.
