Rep Ives is essentially saying that she doesn’t like the bill because religious people can’t refuse to serve gay people. In other words, anything that a religious person doesn’t like violates their religious liberty. What a joke.
The live feed on ilga.gov is terrible. You get maybe 3 seconds of A/V, then a freeze, and maybe if you’re luck it comes back for a few seconds. This has been an ongoing problem for years. Which state agency is responsible for providing the bandwidth and server capacity?
Rep. Yingling makes a good point about the “generationalism” of this issue, particularly in the GOP. There is a significant difference in younger and older voters (although I’m not sure if there is a generally accepted age line). Younger politicians would do well to make note of that, if they want a long career…

Note to Dwight Kay: when you said you had no prepared remarks and probably shouldn’t say anything, you should have stopped right there.
“Glitter?” Really? You don’t have a clue, man.

County clerks should be able to use their religious beliefs now?
Now he’s talking about teachers.
This whole speech by Rep Reis is laughable.
