I have seen numerous tweets from the Senate GOP touting their 2011 budget plan. It would be enlightening to see what exactly they proposed then, and compare that plan to where the state actually is today in 2014.
If memory serves, one of the GOP’s major budget “savings” items was to cut the share of state income taxes passed through to local governments. Funny how they changed their tune a year later when Speaker Madigan proposed a cost-shift of teacher pensions.
