Ahh, more money to harass Libertarian petition signers at their homes. Haven’t seen any Rauner expenditures listed that are going to challengers Lou Atsaves and Gary Cole, nor have I seen Lou Atsaves or Gary Cole file the formation of their political committee to account for all the money being spent to kick candidates off the ballot. Sure hope they are following all the campaign finance rules, although it doesn’t look like it right now. All that money being spent on petition challenges that doesn’t show up on any political committee expenditures sure looks shady.
I can almost see the future press releases now. With the way Rauner is handling his efforts to remove candidates from the ballot, we may have another George Ryan or Rod Blagojevich on our hands if he is elected.
Oops… rest of context: Citizens for Rauner had raised $31 million as of today.

BTW did anyone else Flip spent a 4 whole pages on farm policy — including a 1 page cover and a pledge to get those workless bums in DC to spend more on locks and dams….he did not explain the $600K tax write-off for ag losses in 2012
- Yellow Dog Democrat - Friday, Aug 1, 14 @ 10:57 am:
Thanks, MrJM.
Rauner should and probably has budgeted $30 million out of his pocket for this race.
No sense in dropping $20 million to come up short.
The IEA poll shows he will have no coat tails in 2014. if he is serious about picking up legislative seats and one day the majority he will be spending $100 million over the next eight years anyway, might as well front load it.
The Quinn grants to his voter base in South Cook and Chicago was $54,500,000.
Rauner is such an amateur!
- CircularFiringSquad - Friday, Aug 1, 14 @ 11:03 am:
The report also shows he picker the Ice Miller law firm clean — Durkie once parked there and they might be a state contractor
Plus “sell the planes ” Flip got +$20K in freebie airfar from Don Wilson and Paul Wood…guessing he flew coach not
Interest rates are so low now, he probably figures that he will get a comparably decent return on his investment as long as he can remain governor for the next 1000 years. It’s not that different from investing in college or training, which has a lifetime benefit, the only difference is that he has more money to work with and the expectation of an exceptionally long political career.

Not even close to “all”.

Some context: Friends of Blagojevich raised a total of $24 million from its inception through the end of 2002.

1) Buy a troubled asset, then
2) Get what you value out of it, then
3) Dump the husk.
There’s nothing new here.

don’t think PQ is going to have to worry about Rauner “not being able to find his gym shoes.” I bet Rauner has lots of pairs…

That’s fun!
I spent $150.00 the last few days and I thought I was a big spender.
To the Post,
It’s about the spending not the raising.
Pretty immune now to big numbers, that makes me sad.
