Simon’s glib “Too much” response to the question about the dollar amount of unpaid bills, and JBT’s quick and specific response, made Simon look like JBT’s assistant — not ready to step up just yet. I actually like Shelia Simon, and was a big fan of her dad’s (I cherish my run-in with him at an airport as my best memory from Illinois politics). Just the same, I’m going for JBT. Like PolPal, I wish she were the GOP’s nominee for gov this year. Though I’m a Dem, I voted for her against Blagojevich in ‘06 and would be glad to choose her over Quinn this time. If only! On a related note: Still waiting for this state, progressive as it is, to elect a woman governor!
