Dick Uihlein does what he is told. That’s what happens when you inherit your money. You don’t think for yourself. His office supply salesman John Tillman tells him what to think. It’s not like he has morals or principles or anything - not when Tillman & Co play games with their tax status and then there’s that town of Cicero.
Exactly OW: When there is money sniffing to do “tea party” conservatives, Uihlein, Oberweis, come a’runnin and it doesn’t matter what the damn plank is. Total hypocrites. The one good thing - and there is only one good thing about Rauner is that his candidacy has shown these people don’t really have any supposed principles. Oberweis sure didn’t.

I hope Obie retires to Florida with the Mrs. after the thumping he is going to get from Durbin.
He even flubbed his canned remarks.
Durbin laid him out on several issues, including his residency status-”You are the first Florida resident in history to run for the U.S. Senate from Illinois.”
===AA- do you think he loses his State Senate seat if he loses the Federal election???===
No, I don’t think -AA - meant that, I will say I agree with the sentiment;
Maybe state Senator Oberweis needs to think about relaxing in the Florida sun, he deserves it.
I mean, having to face colleagues now, 12 days from Election Day and all his yapping, and judging, and blathering, and attempting to run the ILGOP Chairman out in a rail…
…to be on that State Senate floor…the walking Slytherin Hypocrite?
After Oberweiss loses in Illinois, he can try again in Florida. He wouldn’t be the first Illinois citizen to try running for Senator from multiple states.
Durbin laid him out on several issues, including his residency status-”You are the first Florida resident in history to run for the U.S. Senate from Illinois
Well…there was Andy Martin and a Guy from Maryland
Waiting for Waukegan to become campaign issue. A teacher strike is one thing, but since oct 2nd?? seriously? and the statements both sides are releasing to the media are childish in the extreme and would be funny but for the 17,000 kids, who are already growing up in a backwater, not being in school for dang near a month. Will somebody grow up, up there? my word.
John, if you’ll recall your Old Testament, Isiah was talking there abut how mad God was at the people of Jerusalem and Judah and the “end times” were going to be he was going to sic the Assyrian army on them if they didn’t straighten up and fly right.
King Hezekiah got the message and he was rewarded when the Assyrian army was destroyed in one night.
don’t worry, everyone on the R sidewill get back in some weird universe of Republicans….the top story on Drudge is about the ballot issues in Schaumburg. Cue Fox News.
I see him as a good fit for the current US House. He’s better than some of the other new candidates. He just keeps aiming a little high. He also has backed off some of his more extreme positions, seemingly not just for pure politics.
I am a die hard supporter of Durbin and thought he did great tonight. Obie showed he is still not ready for prime time. BUT, channel 7 was awful. It was a disgrace how partisan they were with their questions and follow ups. Even if Obie were up to it, the panel interrupted him more, slanted the questions asked and it seems to give him less time.
Not sure who the sponsors were, so I may be off base, but having a panel of 2 blacks and 1 hispanic didn’t seem fair to the GOP candidate.
As I said, I’m a Durbin supporter (and he would win the debate anyway) but this just gives the tin hat nut jobs more fuel to spout off.

I thought planks mattered
I thought planks meant something
I thought the platform is how we judge Republicans.
I thought that Chairman Brady was not a worthy Republican Chair because of SSM.
I thought people need to rally against Republicans advocating SSM.
I thought I was a bad Republican, according to Jim Onerweis.
I thought former President GHW Bush was a bad Republican for “witnessing” a SSM.
What happened my ole Slytherin pal?
What happened to Purity?
What happened to “Only, must, never, always”?
What happened to litmus tests?
What happened to blood oaths?
What happened to you, Jim Oberweis?
Why do you decide what makes a Republican, when you will say anything and anything to clean the STAIN of your o so recent past?
Go live in Florida, get your condo tax break.
Leave My Party alone, your Purity has a stain, no words are going to help that.
