I’m not really a tech/gadget person. Plus, doesn’t it seem like first generation gadgets have all of the bugs? Sometimes waiting until the 2.0 comes out is the prudent course. Unless you’re one of those people who has to have the latest thing.
Mostly for the health and activity monitoring but also for allowing me to keep my iphone in my pocket. Also, I’ll be able to watch netflix on my phone while the watch keeps track of my run while on the treadmill. Battery time is 18 hours of “average use”; I hope this gets better.
I own a first generation Galaxy Gear. I have never had one problem with it. It’s so handy for tracking my physical activity, providing reminders for upcoming meetings, taking/making calls when my phone is in my pocket, and yes, even telling time. Hope all you Apple fans enjoy the new product; looks great!
Broke myself of a 40 year habit of wearing a regular watch and am comfortable getting my portable tech fix via my Iphone. Never been one for the latest gadget anyway- if some wonderful new use comes of these smart watches I might change my mind, but for now I’m good..
No. After all, it would probably scuttle any chance I have of becoming Governor. I like my good old trusty analog watch. Which….seems to be an hour behind… ooops.
No- BUT! My reason not to- “I don’t see the point”- was the same thing I said about the iPad. In a few years, once developers have had some time to work on it, I may see the functionality of it.
I don’t need a watch. If this becomes something actually usable, then yes - but based on what I’ve learned so far, it is just an expensive extension of what I already carry around in my pocket in the form of a iPhone.
Wait on this one. I don’t think of myself as gadget person although I have an iPhone6, Fitbit Flex, Kindle Fire. That’s enough for me now. Still looking for the directions to change time on my watch. LOL. Don’t feel the need to be the first on my block with the Apple Watch.
No. I too stopped wearing a watch because of the smartphone. We don’t need duplicative devices for the price their asking. Might reconsider if it was standalone. That way I might use it when I want to go light.
Wait. If I am required to create a means of making our staffer’s accessible to our databases and their office work - I can see myself being forced into working with it.
I have been forced into a whole lot of new data mechanisms because it is what I have been required to do to meet staff demands.
Nope, don’t like Apple’s products, business strategies, or philosophy regarding customers. The company is Wal-Mart for the tech industry and I won’t be part of it.
I’m an Android user. But even if there were no compatibility issues they would need to do a better job of explaining the benefit of the second device that must be tethered to the smart phone.
The cellphone is already to small, seeing as how they haven’t perfected the technology to shorten the distance from my ear to my mouth, so people either can’t hear me, or I can’t hear them. Why would I want something with a smaller screen?
Nope. Droid person. As far as smart watch in general. Not enough benefit or battery for the cost.
Plus I believe the machines are already aware and are messing with us. I’ve been sassed too many time by my technology.
I think it may be like the iPhone, and in a couple versions from now it will be great. Right now, I can do most of those things already on my iPhone. I have a Garmin fitness watch and heart monitor. So, not exactly sure what I need the watch for just yet.
I’ve got a Movado with one main dial and three small dials and I can’t figure out what any of the small ones do, so the odds of me buying a more complicated watch are slim.
Nope. One, I refuse to buy into all the Apple hype, and, two, I haven’t worn a watch in ages and think it would feel weird to have something on my wrist again.
There was a funny article posted on the Onion’s Facebook page today titled “Apple Fans Demand Other Products They Can Feel Directly Against Skin At All Times.” An excerpt:
“The watch is a good start, but I need as many devices as possible to be directly in contact with my flesh, like lightweight tablets I can strap to my legs or some kind of Apple chestplate I can wear under my shirt,” said Robert Klinman, echoing the sentiments of millions of Americans who said that any portion of their skin not in contact with an Apple product felt raw and exposed.”

Still have a flip phone with the time on it- flip phones replaced pocket watches which replaced wrist watches (timex was the last brand)because I kept tearing them up- might consider some sort of i-phone in the future…
No. For me, I need to be able to have the iWatch (or whatever they are going to call it) be able to (a) Project a laser for making linear measurements to a selected endpoint and bluetooth transfer that digital measurement to a selected location of my choice, and (b) Project a laser at a part/component and have the iWatch create an exterior scan and then bluetooth the digital file back to an assigned location of my choice.
Since neither of those capabilities are happening anytime soon, I’m not interested. Just have to keep doing it the old fashioned way.
This hardware looks like all it’s going to do is tell time…..

The big question in my mind is-can Apple get an entire generation of people who don’t wear watches adopt a new behavior?
Few people under 30 wear a watch by habit. They have to change that before this thing will take off. But if anyone can do it, it’s Apple.

Oop. Make that just “else.”
