Another win for Rauner and a loss for Madigan. Madigan’s instincts just aren’t what they use to be. People really pay attention to pay raises for overpaid legislators, especially, when they look incompetent.
==Another win for Rauner and a loss for Madigan.==
…for real? If this passes, Rauner loses another cudgel in the budget battle, and all of the Dems can say, “I cut MY OWN PAY…”That doesn’t advance any of the Governor’s goals, and it may set one or two back a little.
It appears - Apocalpse Now - is referring to governmetal wins. I asked what are the others. Winning election in the governing since Rauner took the oath renders the election win outside the realm of relevance of the discussion at hand.
Another misstep by Madigan. From no cellular phone to the $100 mill. pres library to this self inflicted wound, he has been started losing battles and is making more mistakes than any other time in recent memory.
All this analysis of who is winning and losing each battle of this fight makes for good reading. But I hope you realize that very few people whose vote is in play have the slightest idea what’s happening in Springfield. So, imo, the small wins and losses along the way don’t mean much. The outcome will matter.

How we all get to the outcome, the wins and loses along the way, dictate what happens well after any one “outcome”.
==I take what I do seriously, this is a full-time job not income supplement.==
I appreciate that Representative. I’d hope you’d have the same zeal for salary increases for other state employees since they have full time jobs that also aren’t income supplements. Look, I don’t begrudge somebody more pay, but man are you completely deaf to the current situation. No budget. People not receiving services. And you are fighting to get your COLA. Not. Cool.

+1 Rauner.
Madigan should have been aware of this vulnerability and addressed it weeks ago.

I’m sorry, I must’ve missed the other wins.
Can you list them?

I’m sure you supported Pat Quinn’s stopping the pay of legislators…

Willy - the election probably counts as a win. But lately, neither Rauner nor Madigan have had many wins, imo.

News Flash, the election was over 7 months ago, although the campaign never ended.
What are the other “Rauner wins”?
- cdog - Tuesday, Jul 28, 15 @ 11:49 am:
Get rid of that pay raise GA!
It’s playing in Peoria! And Bloominton Normal, and Champaign, and Rockford, and. ……
- cdog - Tuesday, Jul 28, 15 @ 11:57 am:
Would the Raunerbots vote for an end to pay raise? Would BVR sign it?
Talk about eating some sh** pie!
(I beg the pardon of all for my ** reference

Willy - you didn’t mention a time frame earlier, eh? An election is a decent win, I’d say.
I also pointed out that neither guy has had much in the way of wins lately. Not sure where the disagreement exists between our posts.

This was always the limit of that otherwise very good attack line. Now everyone gets a free bullet point for their campaign mailers.

Agreed, so is the next question, “Now what, Governor. We cut the pay raise, now what?”
