Yesterday while driving to Springfield I saw a IDOC prisoner transport bus broken down on the side of the road. How about a Question Of The Day of signs of the coming Apocalypse?

The only thing that could be added to this picture is if a dog went by and peed on it too.
Those aren’t hydrants. Those are referred to as FDCs (Fire Department Connections). Firefighters hook hoses from the pumper to them to pump water into sprinkler or standpipe systems. What system those are or were connected to, I don’t know. It’s possible that they were replaced with newer FDCs or the pipes underground were damaged, removed, etc. Just thought I’d provide some context.
