Simple answers to simple questions
Thursday, Jan 14, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * From the Tribune’s interview of Gov. Bruce Rauner…
For the answer, scan through IllinoisGO’s (for the primary) and the governor’s (for the general) multi-million dollar contribution disclosure reports. There’s also the little matter of the possibility that the Speaker could be slammed with millions of dollars in spending by or on behalf of his pro-business Democratic primary opponent. Other than that, I, too, am befuddled. /snark

This is just the continuation of the facts Rauner ignores, followed by the…
“That’s baloney… ”
… and Rauner walks away from further questioning on the hypocritical subject at hand.
Heck, it worked for Rauner in beating Quinn, why stop now?
If you’re shocked by a Rauner hypocrisy at any turn, you’re not payin’ attention, or willfully ignorant to the Rauner M.O. Or blissfully unaware, here specifically, to IllinoisGO, the $20 Million to keep the GOP GA “owned”, and the “Tuenaround Agenda PAC…
… all that money parked… parked… for campaignin’.
Rauner’s hypocrisy is explained away as “baloney” and Raunerbots eat it up.

Excuse me , Mr. Governor , Does the name “Tim Schneider” ring a bell ?
- wordslinger - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 10:22 am:
IllinoisGO hasn’t spent a dime yet (actually, $30).
How’s Goldner getting paid? Is there some sneaky dark fund?
Or is he just a concerned citizen doing it all pro-bono?
- Joe M - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 10:22 am:
Rauner’s focus on government and policy = giving out cash to GOP members of the General Assembly to vote “present” on major bills.
- Anon221 - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 10:23 am:
“But he’s very focused on positioning and posturing.”
Do you HAVE a mirror, Governor???
- Sir Reel - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 10:26 am:
In a way Rauner reminds me of Trump. He’s quick to personal attacks on his opposition, i.e., Madigan, instead of explaining why his position/policies are better. Wash, rinse, repeat.
- Tumbleweed lines - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 10:33 am:
umm…look at who’s Trump’s campaign manager …ring a bell? Same playbook.
- Keyrock - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 10:35 am:
The Tribune story about the Redflex trial somehow forgot
to mention that Goldner is fronting for Rauner when they described his political ties:
“Resolute owner Greg Goldner has acknowledged hiring Bills to work for a Redflex-funded nonprofit organization but has denied any wrongdoing connected with the contract. Goldner has political ties to both Rahm Emanuel and Daley. He was Emanuel’s campaign manager in his first run for Congress.”

Must have been one of those accidental editing errors.

Another day, another Rauner mislead…
- Formerly Known As... - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 11:53 am:
Rauner is now playing the same game as Madigan, with more resources.
Speaker Madigan is on unfamiliar footing and has made some unforced errors during session. He may make a few more during the campaign.
- cdog - Thursday, Jan 14, 16 @ 1:38 pm:
Rauner’s comments are so contradictory, as usual–he is just a walkin’-talkin’-ball-o-CONTRADICTION.
“I am the head of the Republican Party, so
He says Madigan is focused on next election, implying he is not. Balderdash!
When will it end? How can people listen to this junk day after day?

cdog- Thank you for bringing back Balderdash!
