* Word has gone around for a bit now that he’s been looking for a new job…
State Sen. Dan Duffy, a Lake Barrington Republican, will step down to lead Prevent Child Abuse America in April before his term ends.
Duffy didn’t run for re-election to the Illinois Senate and his term would expire in January.
His preferred candidate, Dan McConchie of Hawthorn Woods, has likely prevailed in Tuesday’s Republican primary to replace Duffy. McConchie holds a 651 vote lead over Casey Urlacher with 85 percent of precincts reporting this morning.

I cannot imagine what happens to one’s health, psyche, and being when confronted with the realization that you must become a Raunerite, or else.
This man named Duffy has wisely chosen to re-establish his Free Will, as should be.
Good for him, and his family.

Cdog - with respect, Senator Duffy was one of two GOP State Senators (with McCarter being the other) to openly support Rauner in the 2014 primary. He supports pretty much the entire Turnaround Agenda.

Does Prevent Child Abuse America rely upon any state funding?

TS, with respect, he did until he didn’t. Something obviously changed. I can only contemplate his actions, and his feet have spoken.
