“House Democrats need to tell us why they’re not supporting budget bills that will ensure schools open this fall.”
Maybe because Rauner fails to explain why individuals in teh GOP in the legislature are wholly owned by him. Quit advocating non-budget items, with items that are budget related. Quit using children as an excuse and actually do your job while changing the school funding formula.

Wow, you can tell these guys are feeling the heat.
I don’t understand why they can’t comprehend “Blame Madigan” won’t suffice in Rauner’s manufactured crisis.
Bruce Rauner, whose campaign slogan was “I’ve been successful at everythin I’ve ever done”, has failed to pass a budget in either of the first two years of his term: “IT’S EVERYONE ELSE’S FAULT!!!”
Rauner was actually pretty good toward the end there, talking about how the Democrats drove Illinois into the ditch and now they don’t want to change anything, just raise taxes and keep it going. That’s a pretty good message.
The truth is way more nuanced and complicated, but who cares about the truth? This was good theater, and the acting was top-notch.
Governor, you state that many Democrats support you privately. You state that many Chicago schools are like prisons and in terrible shape. You state ________. Etc. In all these cases where you are asked, respectfully to provide an actual name, place or _____, you either change the subject, talk about Madigan, or the like. And again today this has been repeated. Can you provide at least one name, place or the like in support of your statements. And if not, why should the public believe you?

Like he has for over two years now, Rauner once again gave a campaign speech attacking the institutions and people he has to work with to pass a budget. When pressed for specifics on his plans and reforms, he refused to provide any factual data. When pressed for who else is with him, he refused to name any of his imaginary Democrat supporters.
Rauner says Chicago is “corrupt and mismanaged and financially bereft for years.”
So why did he drop all of that campaign cash on Mayor Daley and Mayor Emanuel? I don’t recall him speaking out about the corruption and mismanagement while he was palling around with these guys for years.
Link , what is the ROI on the tax increase required to fund the 7 billion dollar deficit required by Madigan’s no cuts, all revenue budget? The guy with the pocket protector and the slide rule must be somewhere. Ask him what happens if we lose more manufacturing and other businesses.
