Today’s quotables
Wednesday, Aug 17, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * Says the person who was appointed to her current office after losing a legislative race…
* But Munger isn’t exactly wrong about Mendoza, either. Check out this Illinois Issues profile posted on the Democratic comptroller candidate’s own campaign website…
Think that’ll somehow find its way into the fall campaign?

It’s a shame the candidates can no longer campaign on positive messages, instead zeroing in on opponents’ perceived negatives. It’s a nasty game.

If God had wanted this to be a democracy, He’d have given us better candidates.

This.
Realize who you are.
Hows about you do your Job best, Comptroller Munger, so I’m not reminded that you were appointed… after losing.
Do better.

MrJM — that was awesome! Can I have it printed on a t-shirt?

Mendoza will win this race.

Say what you will, Munger is right about Mendoza. Plucked out of City department to run for Rep. And she is unhesitatingly under the control of Ed Burke and Mike Madigan. To her credit, she basically admits it. She used Madigan and Burke for every move since then and in return, has taken care of their people.
Before slating this year, the only office Madigan asked Committeeman to support him on was Comptroller. Buy hey, unlike others, she never even tried to claim that she was independent or a reformer.

Mendoza will win in spite of the vehicle sticker scandal.

Too bad Biss wasn’t the Dem nominee - I could definitely see him as a future US Senator

I guess scandals aren’t what they used to be.

Maybe I’m not the R I once was, but I’ve always been impressed with Mendoza. Having a mentor doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a puppet. She seems to stand on her own two feet when she needs to and has earned respect from both sides of the aisle. That is fresh air.

If Munger has the $ she will certainly be competitive in this race.
I think independents will break her way particularly if she can tie Mendoza to Burke and Madigan effectively
