* And if you believe this, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that just happens to be for sale…
Gov. Bruce Rauner said Friday he doesn’t plan to get involved in replacing state Sen. Matt Murphy, a Palatine Republican and top ally who announced his resignation earlier this month.
“I’m not going to be particularly involved,” Rauner said. “There’s a process that will unfold. And local leaders very much control that process, and I assume they’ll come up with a very good person.”

Perspective?
The Raunerite GOP here in Illinois is funded at a $16.8 million dollar clip, with Rauner personally attached to 95.01% of that funding.
If there’s a 23 year old, elected to a library board, residing in Sen. Murphy’s district, odds are that’s the odds on… favorite.
Once Rauner goes above 27 or so, “they” realize how phony their ascension is and Rauner can’t have that infest other Raunerites.

Another view on Rauner’s preference for youngin’s is that he realizes his term limit stuff will never pass.

All that means is that he will pass his orders along thru his staff.

“I assume that the local leaders will come up with a very good person” - or there’ll be new local leaders PDQ!

Maybe they’ll pick a local none of us Springfield-types know, but it’s fun to look at this as a Morrison vs. Harris battle.
Rauner might need to protect his right flank a little, which would give Morrison an edge. But Radogno has got to be freaked out by the prospect of having another hardcore right-winger in the caucus when she might have to put down a challenge from within again in January. She’s gotta be pushing Rauner to back Harris or a local woman.
It’s also interesting that by Scott Kennedy’s metrics, Harris’ side of the nest is moving towards being a possible Dem pick up. If Tom Cullerton can win a DuPage senate seat, a Dem could some day soon win a Northwest Cook seat. Though, probably not in a midterm.

===Once Rauner goes above 27 or so===
27 years of age is when a young politico finally accepts that they won’t be elected to congress at 25.

My govenor does not want an election to empower the voters? Stoping voters rights , local leaders control that process

Hey, we believed BigBrain when he said he didn’t know nothin’ about how he bungled fundin’ for alternative schools — all over the state — for 2 years. Why not believe this stuff?

Just like his lack of “electioneering,” I’m sure.

How does a Harris or Morrison get replaced on the ballot for State Rep if Murphy’s resignation doesn’t take effect until Sept 15th? Aren’t the ballots printed by then?

Fake BVR- “Listen, I am just a guy doin this for the little fella out there who is workin hard for his family.”
“I am not involved in all of this high falutin politics stuff.”
P.S.- I have no social agenda.

“I’m not going to be particularly involved,”
Hmmmm, there’s that sentence again. That qualifier…
- out of touch - Monday, Aug 29, 16 @ 3:53 pm:
Perversely, Rauner probably prefers Harris for the spot. If Harris moves to the Senate, there’s one less pesky independent mind in the House. Harris would be a lesser threat in the Senate, given the functional supermajority there. Then Rauner can rig the appointment of a sycophant college kid of his choice to the House.
- Pot calling kettle - Monday, Aug 29, 16 @ 4:32 pm:
“I did not have political relations with that appointment process.” (Thumps podium.)
The governor doth protest too much, methinks.

You’ve got two safe House seats and a Senate seat with 2 years left on the meter. Why would you mess with the former with regard to the latter?
A: you wouldn’t. It’ll be someone else. Murph is popular. Watch where he’s looking.
