Jimenez won’t let DelGiorno run away from Madigan
Friday, Oct 14, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller * Earlier today, we talked about how Democratic House candidate Tony DelGiorno said “I have no intention to at this point in time” of voting for Michael Madigan for Speaker if he’s elected.” “My district does not like the leadership of Speaker Madigan,” DelGiorno added. * Well, GOP Rep. Sara Jimenez has a new TV ad that features audio of DelGiorno praising Madigan and pledging his vote… * Script…
Those quotes were obviously from two different audio sources, but still. Oof.

Oof is right.

BORING!
Try this instead, Sara…
Give us three things you’ve done to stay in office!
OH
Then how about one thing!
Sara?
Hello Sara!

Devastating. DelGiorno now just another say anything to get elected politician.
- Mal - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 11:48 am:
Jimenez at the candidate forum didnt look like she was too happy for her self. She looked like a sad puppy on strings.
- Grand Avenue - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 11:54 am:
“Doesn’t fit in” is also a subtle dig at him for being overweight
- Grand Avenue - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 11:56 am:
Interesting that they don’t put citations on the ad in small print.
- Publius - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 12:04 pm:
Wow more reason to vote for Tony. After talking with residents of the 99th he realized that his vote should be with them.
Isn’t that what we want
I know that’s a hard concept for Jimenez to understand… Voting the will of the district is not her thing
- Annonin' - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 12:14 pm:
Looks like Sara has joined Avery is a little spendin’ Perhaps they think BigBrain ain’t doing enough.

After almost a year of non-stop crowing by Rauner partisans of how badly Democrat’s are going to be hurt by Madigan’s unfavorable ratings, I have yet to see anyone provide a link to a credible poll question designed to actually test their operating concept. Specifically, the standard “Democratic party candidate XX is supported by/supports longtime powerful House Speaker Mike Madigan — does this make you: Much more likely, more likely, less likely, much less likely, or no effect to support XX?” Perhaps I’ve missed it? Have we seen any actual data to back up the chest thumping?
- LincolnLounger - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 12:25 pm:
Perfect timing for this ad. DelGiorno tried to play Mr. Independent at the candidate forum last night. This is devastating.

If you’re a state worker…
If you’re a union state worker…
If you are a part of Labor…
If you have a connection to UIS, State Library… all things Sangamon…
Know Raunerite voting records.
“Vote Accordingly”
- Deft Wing - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 12:38 pm:
A vote for DelGiorno IS a direct vote for Mike Madigan. #Fact
Vote accordingly by voting for Jimenez.
- Oswego Willy - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 12:40 pm:
So… Voting for Jimenez IS… hurting all the things I mentioned?
Thanks!
Appreciate it.

Two different audio sources really matters and both of those statements are sentence fragments.
“I’m not going to take any contributions if that means I’m voting for Madigan.”
“I admire the leadership that Speaker Madigan has brought to the party, but it’s time for a change.”
I’m going to wager this clip is pretty heavily doctored to the point of dramatically misrepresenting the statements.

All the votes Mr. Delgiorno criticizes Jimenez for would have added to the backlog of unpaid bills(they weren’t paid for). Which social service agency or health provider would he have wait even longer for payment? Increasing the backlog even more than it already is does not help state employees.
- Anon - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 12:55 pm:
OW,
Some of the folks in Springfield don’t really understand that 20,000ish of the residents of Sangamon county are direct employees of the state or state institutions.
If Rauner had his way, there’d be a lot fewer mom & pop pizza joints in Springfield.
- Oswego Willy - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 1:01 pm:
That stopgap was far worse than any budget that would’ve funded…
UIS
Social Services
Acually pay state employees beyond court orders
Rep. Jimenez owns her votes, and purposely hurting social services, state universities… and state employees, including Union state employees… that’s the Raunerite voting record hurting the district.

These last 3+ weeks left… we’ll have to see what residents might see?
- Team Sleep - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 1:18 pm:
12:52 - do you mean to tell me that such practices happen in tight races?! I AM SHOCKED!
12:54 - yep. Every single one of those budgets were so out-of-what that payment delays would have been endless. Every. Single. One.
- Oswego Willy - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 1:21 pm:
So…
The stopgap deficit…
The budget Jimenez refused to support…
Which has the bigger deficit?
Please cite…
Thanks.
- Whatever - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 1:29 pm:
“Tony DelGiorno, he’s . . . not [for] Sangamon County. That makes it unanimous for the candidates in this race.”
Fixed it.
- Nick Name - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 2:36 pm:
Does Sara, a wholly owned subsidiarity of Rauner Inc., really want to go down this route? And Delgiorno really needs to start touting the fact sheet on Jimenez that he put out yesterday,
- 99th resident - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 2:36 pm:
Springfield Clinic just sent a letter to CMS group insurance members that they are being sent statements for state’s share of member bills (including dependents) for 2015, 2016 and future services. This is separate from the statement for the client’s share. An interest free payment plan is available.
- Arthur Andersen - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 3:35 pm:
Great Timing, Springfield Clinic!

Springpatch deserves what it votes for…So you want more of what you complain most about ? Chi-town ruling your world? Vote accordingly.
- Oswego Willy - Friday, Oct 14, 16 @ 4:30 pm:
Rauner is from Winnetka…
Oops, sorry, Rauner did live in Chicago to clout his denied Winnetka-living daughter into Payton Prep… so yeah, Rauner “was” from Chicago, so you’re partially right.
Raunerism… vote accordingly…
