Rauner gives $3 million to Leader Durkin

You’ll recall that a week ago today, Ken Griffin gave Durkin $2 million. Rauner’s Turnaround Illinois PAC busted the caps for the unopposed Durkin by spending a bit over $100,000 on a radio ad. * Earlier today…
Durkin had already given the House Republican Organization $1.7 million this week.

Why can’t the Republicans just do what the Democrats do and have one overlord for the party who collects all the money and spends all the money? All these multiple people and multiple bank accounts is really confusing!!

A modest tax on campaign contributions would be nice. Say 1%. It might slow down all the shuffling between committees as the more it moves around the smaller it gets. And it would really upset the big money contributors since many of the names I see just hate taxes. Earmark the revenue to pay for the State Election Board, elections and pension debt.
I know, it ain’t gonna happen.
