State Rep. Scott Drury, the lone House Democrat that didn’t vote for House Speaker Michael Madigan earlier this month, reported a $2,000 contribution from Blair Hull, a businessman and 2004 primary candidate for U.S. Senate.

Not mentioned is that Hull was a top backer of Speaker Madigan’s Democratic primary opponent last year. So, the contribution to Drury makes more sense in that context.

Drury will be “safe” if Hull decides he will fund him in a primary battle that “could” occur

Hull could have saved himself a lot of money with a little self-oppo-research back in the day. That was quite a precipitous crash in the polls during his Senate run.

It’s got to be discouraging for guys like Hull to smack into reality and find voters aren’t nearly as enamored of him as he is with himself.

Rep. Drury has also accepted more than $7,500 from Rauner and IL GOP funder Ken Griffin. It makes sense that Drury is on the donor list for other GOP and Rauner funders too.

I imply it’s Madigan’s soilders trolling the comment board, some of them possibly on State time, and this is cause for removal? Wow, I know State employees pay a lot in subscription fees here - but I had no idea it wielded this much power.

Assuming Phelps and Hoffman actually had expenditures in Q4, there are now only 5 House Dems with more cash on hand than Drury. wow
