Help your friends and neighbors understand the true impact of the nonsense in Springfield. This is orchestrated and nonsensical. We are paying far more by not having a budget. From the Comptrollers Web Site - In the last two years, the state’s backlog of bills grew from $6 billion to $11 billion. When we finally pay those bills, we have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars of interest on them.
Taxing sugary drinks will not create enough revenue for Illinois. Tax sugary drinks. PLUS we need to tax candy, chips and the rest of the junk food market. Have the budget office compute the amount of revenue the state could make if the legislature passed a bill taxing all junk food.
If taxpayers don’t want to pay two cents more, they don’t have to buy the junk food.
