Et tu, Diana?
Friday, May 26, 2017 - Posted by Rich Miller * So, Mrs. Rauner’s group is pleading with people to support the House’s budget on Monday? Did she “cave” to Speaker Madigan, too? Such a bizarre time we live in…
* But, as I’ve been telling subscribers this morning and this afternoon, the House still has a ways to go before those votes are taken, if they ever will be…

I read 5 full dot points.
I read them twice, then a third time, aloud, recorded myself, then listened twice to the recording.
Nowhere did I read, see, hear… “And” or “Reforms”… used together or in any combination with those 5 points.
I guess this IS caving…

It sounds like if there is going to be a tax hike in the house, then some GOP members are going to have to vote for it.
And I don’t blame that as a house Dem strategy. Look at all the attacks the GOP did on the Dem Senate. Time for the GOP to step up and acknowledge that we can’t only cut our way out of the budget problems — revenue will be needed also.

I thought that Bruce has no social agenda; depriving people of social services and ruining low cost universities that serve minorities is just bidness

It’s just s “business decision”

July 1 is the deadline, not June 1. It’s clear that whatever is going to make it out of the House is going to have Republican votes. The only question left is how many: only enough for an override, or enough to show there is finally an agreement with Rauner.
We have a long way left to go until meaningful votes are taken in the House. Enjoy the weekend everybody.

My guess?
At some point, crushing labor is too steep of a price now for Diana?
===“In Illinois there’s been a long-time history of what I would call social service, social justice, a bigger role for government in the safety net than in many other states. I think we can drive a wedge issue in the Democratic Party on that topic”
— Bruce Rauner, September 18, 2012.===
At some point, it has to be about the people being hurt before an agenda.
At… some point.

Just another load loop misdirection play.
- Michelle Flaherty - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 3:57 pm:
So Jeannie’s got to deliver 18 votes
- El Conquistador - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 3:58 pm:
2019.

I’m just spitballing here…
Diana could give $20 million to HDems to get them to vote yes… Match the $20 million Griffin leveraged this month.
- Blue Bayou - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 4:04 pm:
OW, I like this idea.
She could give $20 million a month until her husband does his job and signs a budget.
- Henry Francis - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 4:11 pm:
Why’s everyone assume she is caving to Madigan.
Maybe she is just paying back JB for his bail out of the Ounce?
- Oswego Willy - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 4:13 pm:
I honestly do think it’s very significant that “reforms” or any attached caveats…
Diana Rauner is herself in the box.
This might be where Diana had enough, or The Ounce is worried about… The Ounce
- Oswego Willy - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 4:19 pm:
The only way this could be a misdirection…
The Ounce is in on it?
- Lech W - Friday, May 26, 17 @ 4:30 pm:
The Dem’s lack the courage of their convictions on raising taxes.

What exactly are you saying?
The Senate did vote to raise taxes.
