We’re staying open!
Friday, Jun 23, 2017 - Posted by Rich Miller * In case you’ve been wondering, the ol’ blog is staying open every day of special session. I may close comments during the weekend evenings, however. Back in the day, when I couldn’t shut down comments, some commenters would have a few cocktails on a Saturday night and write some things that they normally wouldn’t have said during the sober light of a weekday. I’d rather avoid that. I’m not quite sure yet how much I’ll be posting this weekend. But the House just announced two more committees of the whole…
Emphasis added because if the Democrats can prove that, it’s gonna leave a mark. Our live coverage post will be active every day as well. * There will also be a Capitol Fax published every day for subscribers, although it might not be posted until later in the morning because, well, I’d like to get a little rest, too. Dragging myself out of bed at 6 o’clock on Saturday and Sunday mornings is not my idea of “rest.”

Saw the headline & got excited that some deal had been reached to keep a social service provider from going under.

===and a recently introduced Republican funding bill which creates winning districts and losing districts.===
I think the Speaker’s office needs to elaborate on this…

Chairman McBroom-
I’ve seen your request to elaborate on the statement above. Our response is as follows:
- This is my house. Deal with it.
Hope this helps.

Fun hater.

I assume those meetings are in June, not May.

Proof Reader +1!
Actually, those may have been dates set back in 2015, 2016 and recycled for this non-special special session.

Thank you, Rich. Although my comments have been very scarce lately, this is still the only way I get any straight info on what is happening in Springfield.
Honestly, I have gotten tired of commenting on a lot of the hypocritical, disingenuous and self-serving statements being repeated constantly. And we still do not appear to be close to getting a budget put together with the required revenue.
And if there are any breakthroughs I know I will hear it first here.

Thank you for all that you do Rich!

Thanks so much - will keep checking in regularly over the weekend to stay abreast of (non-)developments.

Any way to know ahead who will be “testifying” this weekend?
- Winnin' - Friday, Jun 23, 17 @ 7:54 pm:
You’re the best, Rich.

I was tempted to submit my name on the pensions … but they took my parking space away when I retired.

“We’re staying open” … sounds like something a university president has to say.

Should keep comments open for late night imbibers. In vino veritas.(Or as Hinky Dink Kenna translated it “When you get a snootfull you’ll give your right name.”)

Sad way to begin the day. Attending a conference near Champaign. Many nearing retirement discuss moving out. Some want to go no further than Indiana to avoid taxes.
