Maze Jackson forms new PAC
Wednesday, Sep 13, 2017 - Posted by Rich Miller * This should be interesting…
* More…
* And he’s doing an outreach event… Posted by Maze Jackson on Monday, September 11, 2017 …Adding… A couple of people have reminded me that Jackson’s “The Intelligence Group” received $91,000 from Republican Comptroller Leslie Munger’s campaign last year.

Maze already took over $90k from Rauner (via Munger): http://tinyurl.com/MazeMunger
How much is Rauner going to give to this PAC?
- Blue dog dem - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:23 am:
I am at a loss for words.
- ughh... - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:25 am:
Free Food (exclamation points)
disclaimer: bring your own free food, and chair to sit in…
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:25 am:
No one ever accused Maze of being subtle.
I find it exciting that Maze will be the litigator, thru this PAC, what is indeed “in it” for a whole group of people.
- The Captain - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:26 am:
Wait, does the BBQ end when the food is exhausted or the DJ is exhausted? Because if it’s the latter that party could go for days, Chicago DJ’s don’t quit.
- Fax Machine - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:31 am:
Maze Jackson’s wife - Kari Steele - is currently running for re-election to Water Rec. A lot of Committeemen wanted to dump her at slating (because of Maze) but the Black Committeemen (not including Preckwinkle) put a stop to it.
With that being said a lot of Committeemen may be willing to put someone other than Kari Steele on their palm card, especially since a black woman (former state rep Kim DuBuclet) was slated for the 2 year spot to replace Cynthia Santos, so Kari Steele losing wouldn’t lower the black representation on Water Rec from the current 3 out of 9.
- Mal - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:32 am:
I am black and Maze Jackson does not represent black people. In fact, he represents Bruce Rauner and selling out.
- Saluki - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:36 am:
“I am black and Maze Jackson does not represent black people. In fact, he represents Bruce Rauner and selling out.”
If it isn’t Maze Jackson, I am curious to know, who does represent black people?
- 360 Degree Turnaround - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:38 am:
Since Maze has been organizing for months. I am wondering if he can provide the name of his downstate director? Or just direct us how black people get involved downstate.
- Fax Machine - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:39 am:
Maze for Mayor 2019?
- TopHatMonocle - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:41 am:
He’s already done “WIIFTBP” palm cards in the past. Whoever thinks it’s anyone but Maze deciding the “endorsements” is kidding themselves. Per Fax Machine’s comment, this is probably just a scheme to raise more money to spend on behalf of his wife’s campaign.

===If it isn’t Maze Jackson, I am curious to know, who does represent black people?===
Um, is this a serious question? No one. Who represents white people? Or Asian people? Groups aren’t a monolith.
The previous poster’s point is that Maze *especially* doesn’t represent black people. The PAC would be more accurately named “what’s in it for Maze Jackson’s bank account”?
- Responsa - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:44 am:
Just creepy. Beyond creepy.
- Anonymous - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:46 am:
PJ,
Boom, there it is.
- Anonymous - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:46 am:
Division.
If the objective is to recognize each individual based on their own being, how does it help to divide up into tribes? Who is doing the dividing and self-identifying against others?
- Lucky Pierre - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:56 am:

Good question and why do they keep getting reelected?
They are failing their constituents and the mass exodus of African Americans from Chicago and Illinois confirms this.
- Ghost - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:56 am:
PJ VanillaMan represents us all.
including the alt left…. which i think may just be the name of Richs pontoon boat, i am still researching it….
- Texas Red - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 10:58 am:
This is what you get when you rely on identity politics for support. The “salad bowl” is filled with many constituencies and something the groups grow weary of toeing the party line. Good for Maze.
- Ghost - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:00 am:
Wait is Maze the Lorax?
- Ghost - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:03 am:
Has Maze mentioned he is in charge to Corey Brooks?
- PublicServant - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:11 am:
Can I get some of the free food at the cookout? Although, not black myself, I am interested in what’s in it for black people. Just sayin.
- Anonymous - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:11 am:
How much is he going to pay himself to run the PAC?
- Colin O'Scopey - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:37 am:
=The PAC would be more accurately named “what’s in it for Maze Jackson’s bank account”?=
More like “what’s in it for the black people whom Maze Jackson wants to support”.
- Annonin' - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:42 am:
As a semi regular listener of the TwoPiece and Dan radio show I can report the IPI “ad” for Illinois Rising contain a mention of Maze and Charles Thomas as their window into the black community.
The PAC should be called “What’s In It for MAZE”
Of course why should be any different the Proft?
Another independent, free market think tank.
- wordslinger - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 11:46 am:
salukii, obviously, Lucky Pierre speaks for black people.
He says they keep re-electing the wrong people. Guess they just don’t know any better.

Boy, would I love to be treated to the LP treatise on “how to effectively legislate for black people”. I’ll hang up and listen to your wisdom on what they should be doing.
- jimk849 - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 12:02 pm:
I hear this and thought it must be April 1st.
- pskila - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 12:07 pm:
I am with Wallace 10X10 …Maze Jackson doesn’t speak for everyone…but it’s time for the African American community to question what’s really going on the West and South sides of the city…
- City Zen - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 12:13 pm:
==The PAC would be more accurately named “what’s in it for Maze Jackson’s bank account”?==
Please, don’t make their acronym any longer than the mouthful it already is..
- JS Mill - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 12:17 pm:
PJ gets it.
LP gets very little.
Take that however you want to.
- wndycty - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 12:26 pm:
===If it isn’t Maze Jackson, I am curious to know, who does represent black people?===
When someone asks a question like this its safe to say 1) the person knows few, if any, Black people 2) If you are a acquaintance of this person and you happen to be Black you will probably be called upon to defend this person whenever this person is accused of racism.
- cdog - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 1:15 pm:
Any conservative AA voices that can break through all the noise should be respected.
Many years of Liberal/Dem/Progressive attempts has had too weak and marginal success in providing good options for most inner-city AAs.
The proof of this is self-evident. Time for something new is what I read in a lot of AA conservative writing.
More media needs to give more conservative AA a voice. This probably won’t happen because it is contrary to the liberal media bias.
Maybe Maze’s #WIIFTBP can be that platform.
- Ghost - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 1:38 pm:
I wonder if Maze is interested in the idea that a grp of people would gather around the character of their ideas; the thing upon which they should be viewed/judged
- cdog - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 1:43 pm:
In the snarkiest of snarky tone, it should be pointed out that it would be totally unacceptable to promote like this with another color inserted in the title.
It might even cause a riot or two with people covering their faces, carrying pipes, and flying black flags.
just sayin’ /s
(And, this joke does not make me a racist but it does make me someone who regards equal treatment very highly. I hope the best for #WIIFTBP and hope their intentions are noble and not based on self-interest.)
- A guy - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 1:51 pm:
Maze is interesting, that’s for sure. It’ll be interesting to see what the turnout is for the cookout. That might (or may not) suggest something.
- Grand Avenue - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 2:34 pm:
Every black politician in Chicago listens to Maze & Charles Thomas radio show, at least when they’re in the car.
- Anon - Wednesday, Sep 13, 17 @ 3:11 pm:
JB has the ability to make Maze a friend. Dude has no real ideals or integrity. Someone needs to tell him that Back nationalism is dated.
- HOTEP HANK - Thursday, Sep 14, 17 @ 8:38 am:
Why are non - black people so scarred of #WIIFTBP.
with out the vote of the Black Man and Woman in Illinois you’ll have nothing.
