Rauner mailer: “I am running for reelection”
Tuesday, Oct 3, 2017 - Posted by Rich Miller * A tried and true way of ginning up media interest in a campaign announcement is to create some doubt…
* A friend sent me this the other day. He circled the two items and blacked out the name… Um, after HB40, isn’t he now part of the liberal special interests? /s And, yes, that letter was dated a couple of weeks ago and things have changed a lot since he signed HB40. But still, he’s quoted by his own campaign committee as firmly saying he’s running for reelection.

I wonder how it feels to give 1k to a guy who makes $160 million every year.
Probably like being a sucker. At least JB has the shame not to grovel for cash at the feet of the significantly less wealthy.

Was the letter postmarked from Nigeria? /s
Rauner asking for money…The Illinois Comeback…a Partnership Proposal… can’t the BTIA ™ come up with better turn in assignments than this? Or, is their pizza fund runnin’ low???

We need to save our state from a persistent rascal who never met a bridge he couldn’t burn, a compromise he couldn’t scuttle, a budget he couldn’t propose, a child he couldn’t save, or a government he couldn’t lead.
Bruce Rauner is Illinois’ worst governor.

YES!!! Rauner is the best governor ever and his heavily compensated reps and senators are amazing too! We are so lucky here in Illinois

I see he couldn’t make it past the first sentence without mentioning madigan

Coffee came out of my nose–”i am not part of the establishment”. The carhartt jacket proves it. Ignore dartmouth, endowments, gifts, hundreds of millions made from public pension funds, nine luxury homes, etc., etc. bruce is just a hard-core harley-riding rebel. Yeah, ok.

Based on past practice (i.e. election nite phone call, etc.) we assume he drops out after the primary TeeHee
Better note is the email about Amazon and the fundraising plug — for GovJunk campaign.

His ego will not let him walk away. I fully believe he is beating a dead horse. He has managed to tick off almost every voting block in the state. He has money to throw away, so why not run? I am a life long republican, who can’t wait to vote for his opponent.

Bottom line: he’s a liar, so anything he says - weasel wordy or not - why pay attention? What he says today might change tomorrow. Or later today.

The Gov is not part of the “liberal special interests” crowd — he’s in a very special group, that few can afford to join.

All snark aside: Publicly funded abortion, the Trust Act for undocumented immigrants, the guv’s signature on every LGBT bill, automatic voter registration…that’s a lot of marks on the liberal special interest check list, courtesy of Bruce Rauner.

I can’t get this image out of my head of a guy walking behind Rauner (as they used to do with elephants in a parade) with a barrel on wheels and a shovel.
