Ives holding high-dollar fundraiser

* The Chicago Bears matriarch, among others, appears unhappy with the governor…
* From her Facebook page…
Great to come home and find checks and petitions in the mail from around the state! Thank you all. Keep sending them in to

Interestingly enough, Facebook, Inc. recently contributed $1,000 to her campaign fund.
* Meanwhile…
Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate and State Rep. Jeanne Ives won over some hearts Saturday during a brief appearance to drum up support for her primary campaign in Arlington Heights. […]
Ives, a West Point graduate with a degree in economics and a mother of five, criticized Rauner for signing what she calls the “sanctuary state” bill, the new school funding formula which many see as a bailout for Chicago Public Schools, subsidies for Exelon Corp., and a bill Sept. 28 that allows state health insurance and Medicaid funding for abortion.
Candidate Rauner supported increased coverage for abortions in 2014 but changed his mind in April, saying the state’s focus should be the economy, making his latest move a surprise for conservatives.
“This is the agenda of an Ivy League professor and not a conservative reformer,” said the Wheaton resident of her primary reason for challenging the first-term governor in March’s Republican primary.

Why is Facebook donating to Ives..?
- phocion - Monday, Nov 13, 17 @ 2:48 pm:
Not exactly a “Miracle on 34th Street” pile of mail for Ives there.
- Oswego Willy - Monday, Nov 13, 17 @ 2:54 pm:
Virginia McCaskey…maybe the Rooneys will talk her out of this. Bruce owns part of the Steelers, Virginia.
More help for Rauner.
Ives hasn’t hit a tipping point.

OW
Quit playing it both ways, Old Weasel.
× Rauner
or
× Ives.
Who are you voting for?
- wordslinger - Monday, Nov 13, 17 @ 3:02 pm:
If Mrs. McCaskey really wants to help Ives, she’ll send
Ted Phillips and Ryan Pace over to Rauner to run his campaign. They’re old-school BTIA(TM).

===Who are you voting for?===
Neither.
I’m not giving Rauner a chance to see where he lacks support.
Every Ives vote allows Rauner to see where his base weakness exists.
Why help Rauner?
Ives’ 38% or so will aid Rauner in a dry run, see where he’s vulnerable, abc gets to seem reasonable and moderate after April, while attacking Dems and Ives starting in January.
Let her run, but I’m not helping Rauner. Nope.

Let her run?
You’re such a gentleman, OW.
- JoanP - Monday, Nov 13, 17 @ 3:22 pm:
They need a new graphic designer. It looks sloppy to have someone’s first and last names on separate lines. (Yeah, I’m picky about that sort of thing.)
More seriously, while I’m certainly not shy about expressing my political preferences, I’m not sure I’d like to see my name and address on a candidate’s Facebook page for all the world to see.

Just stop. Geez.
I have comment after comment, gender or race not withstanding…
Let them all run. Won’t stop anyone from running.
You know that too. This was discussed.

I wonder who’s going to run in 42 sate rep district? Or, is that District going to be held open just in case Jeanne fails and she can go back to her old state rep position.

Good for business. Social media is a lot like the odds makers in Vegas. They don’t care who wins or loses, they just want you to bet. Having Ives run generates the pro Ives/anti Rauner traffic and vice versa.
- Lester Holt’s Mustache - Monday, Nov 13, 17 @ 3:50 pm:
Like I said earlier - conservatives will support Ives instead of governor phony, and will stay home in November instead of voting for the liberal Rauner if he wins this primary. LP and the anonymous Raunerbot commenters here better start getting those resumes updated.

I dunno - the Chicago Bears are a top 7 franchise in terms of value and growth. At $2.85 Billion in value The teams wort more are from NY, LA, San Fran and of course the cheating Patriots. Considering the Bears recent record, I would say yes Virgina is a valuable ally.

In my petition drive in Maryland, a down day was when we didn’t get a full tray of petitions. Yikes.

The Representative may be making a false assumption by concluding those envelopes are stuffed with checks. Just saying.

For the life of me, I’ll never understand why the Governor didn’t wait until November 22d at 4:59 to sign HB40.

SAP, look no farther than the BTIA(tm)

Ives was was at the Bears game yesterday working the parking lots for petition signatures personally. There seemed to be a lot of support from the tailgaters…

If he doesn’t already know this, he’s a worse candidate then I though.
I think you’re giving Rauner too much credit for his 3D chess playin
