Rauner dodges tax return question, pivots instead to Pritzker’s tax dodging and tax hikes
Thursday, Mar 22, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller * Check out the long pause and pivot to Pritzker when the governor was asked if he’d release his full tax returns…
* And then a follow-up question that he also dodges by pivoting to Pritzker…
Props for asking Rauner the question, but I’d bet that neither he nor Pritzker will ever divulge their full tax information.

Rauner’s full tax info is more relevant than ever in light of the Kip Kirkpatrick lawsuit

O’Connor’s facial expressions in the background says it all.

The ONLY two words you will hear out of Rauner’s mouth between now and November is Pritzker and Madigan.

more irrelevancies for the campaign. press does a real disservice to public through this kind of phony reporting

This is the kind of spin that almost cost him the primary. This type of two step will not work over the lead up to the general election. The unbelievable arrogance of the man is very off putting to voters.

Yet Rauner supporters will put there heads in the sand. Rauner is a corrupt insider. He is the one with conflicts of interest which is why he won’t release that full return.

We know what Pritzker is up to, now governor what are YOU up to?

Thank goodness JB Pritzker never engaged in such shameful antics!!

Geez, he could have just said “no.”

The shuck and jive works much better when you are a challenger. That is how Rauner won the first time. No matter what was asked, he could pivot to Quinn. When you are an incumbent, and you have a record, the pivot just falls flat. He needs a better defense… and offense….

The Best Team in America did a bang-up job of forecasting one of the most obvious questions that Rauner is likely to face given the constant refrain of Pritzker $ vs Rauner $. That pause was Rauner channeling his inner-most Jason Plummer.
Rauner has been been unraveling since he got whipped on the budget veto, and it has only gotten worse since he nearly got whipped by an underfunded and unknown opponent. But, he’ll keep his talking points close like Linus with his blankie.

That is an ersatz shirt and jacket combination, imho

Love the John O’Connor expressions and head shaking in the background.

Why not Chris Kennedy? He’ll finally have the chance to run against Joe Berrios.

Who is John O’Connor? What a look.

I don’t care about Rauner’s nonsense. I do care about John O’Connor’s blue steel. that man should be in front of a camera more often.
