* Lots of unconfirmed rumors floating around out there that Gov. Rauner may go up on TV early next month. If that happens, JB Pritzker is expected to quickly follow suit. Until then, we’ll have to settle for digital ads…
Today, the Rauner campaign launched a new digital ad on JB Pritzker’s refusal to call out Mike Madigan’s corruption involving sexual harassment and retaliation cases within his political operation.
After sexual harassment allegations swirled around Speaker Mike Madigan’s political operation, State Representative Kelly Cassidy came forward about what she calls retribution for speaking out against Madigan’s investigation into the accusations.
Pritzker refuses to speak about Madigan’s role.
If Pritzker won’t call out Madigan now, how can we trust him in the future?
JB’s political calculation must be that to turn on Madigan would be worse for him than be silent and take arrows from Rauner (who has dismal popularity rating). He’s right.
Rauner has beaten every voter enlessly w anti-madigan vitriole. No surprise, madigans numbers are in the gutter. But i dont see how that translates to an actual vote FOR rauner.
Same thing w pritzker/tax increase ads. They might depress pritzker votes somewhat, but i dont see those votes going to rauner.
For rauner, every day spent alking about the death penalty, is a day not filled w quincy, medicaid, barneys lease, etc. nice distraction.
What legislation or policies has Rauner proposed to combat sexual harassment during his tenure?
We do know that Rauner has fought against unions which have done much good for the equalization of women. In union state positions men and women are paid the same for equal work.
Can Rauner make that claim for businesses he has had a private equity interest?

His very best was the good conduct award given the ex-rep for a stint at DOC.

All this BBQ. What about a nice and fair campaign? Isn’t that what the voters want?
