That’s on my impressive transcribing. But Michael sacks? Really??
- The Captain - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 3:28 pm:
With so many candidates it isn’t going to take a large amount of the vote to qualify for the runoff, but in order to make the runoff you have to be the absolute first choice of a large number of people. What is the universe of people where he’s the first choice? When you get past the Gold Coast and East Randolph I’m not sure where else his vote comes from.
- Ron Burgundy - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 3:31 pm:
Yeah, I’m not seeing it, but $. Lot of ground and name recognition to make up in under 4 months. Seems like a long script too. Tough to keep people on that long these days.
- TopHatMonocle - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 3:44 pm:
Maybe it’s a Mendoza poll in disguise. Or maybe my tin foil hat is on too tight.
- The Most Anonymous - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 3:45 pm:
I’m so sick of rich white men who think there’s nothing they can’t do. Sit down.
- Buck'n'Irish - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 3:52 pm:
I’d rather have him than any of the other contenders besides Mendoza. If you liked Rahm then you’ll like him and he doesn’t have the baggage Rahm did.
- Boone's is Back - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 3:59 pm:
Hey you have to be uber rich to run for Gov now, why not Mayor too?
- SaulGoodman - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:00 pm:
How does Sacks have residency in Chicago? Doesn’t he live in Highland Park?
- Anonymous - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:04 pm:
The current slate of candidates is apathetic and have little business knowledge. He’s smart and gets it. Good luck saying that about any others.

no negative on mendoza?
- Not It - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:12 pm:
If Trump, Rauner, and JB can buy their respective elections, this guy can to.
- Anon - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:22 pm:
would have liked to see what the poll is testing on Mendoza, or what she left out of the messaging totally?
- Juice - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:28 pm:
If this is a Sacks poll, my quick take based on the questions and the head to heads is that he is considering a run only if Susana chooses not to run. Which means he may be in her corner if she does. And keeping his options open if she doesn’t. (Which would be why there are no questions about her.)
- Anonymous - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:31 pm:
I have it on good authority that he is a resident
- SaulGoodman - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:42 pm:
**I have it on good authority that he is a resident**
His wife is registered in Highland Park. He’s registered in Chicago. Every contribution that comes from him is reported as coming from Highland Park.
It should be fun to have another residency fight.
- Robert the Bruce - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:44 pm:
Sacks’ residence was listed as Highland Park as recently as his gift 6 days ago to Personal PAC. I wonder where he pays property taxes?
- West Sider - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 4:59 pm:
You have to have a constituency from which to build-which Ward says (in effect) “if only Michael Sacks would run”?
- RoscoeRatMatt - Tuesday, Oct 30, 18 @ 5:25 pm:
Couldn’t say I know who the man is; and there isn’t enough time or interest between now and February to find out, given the overcrowded candidate field.
- Techie - Wednesday, Oct 31, 18 @ 8:11 am:
As The Captain said, it’s really tough to make a good choice with so many candidates and only being allowed to vote for one. If voters want their vote to matter, they will pretty much be forced into voting for their favorite candidate among the top 2 or 3, instead of their favorite among them all.
It would be nice if voters could cast a ballot in favor of all candidates they support - that would give voters a much stronger voice.

Just did this poll now. However, I was offered negatives on Toni, Daley, Mendoza, then Sacks. Otherwise same thing. Very notably absent from mention was McCarthy.
