Did you laugh or cry when reading Dan Hynes memo that stated that the cost of living went up 19.5% since the last increase, so to make up for it, employees were going to be given Cost of Living Adjustments that don’t even keep up with current inflation? Sigh. It’s better than the previous administrations, but still underwhelming and disappointing. In addition to the lack of raises, they had several furlough days forced upon them. As I said last week on another post, there’s little to no incentive for those with institutional knowledge to pursue those positions unless it’s an end-of-career salary bump. We recently had to treat an ear infection in one of our cats with antibiotic ear drops. He wasn’t on speaking terms with us for about a week.
