* Bernie…
Asked if federal investigation of Democrats, including some in the state Legislature, is a drag on the ticket, [US Sen. Dick Durbin] said: “Of course it is. You have to take that seriously. … Any corruption in public office is unacceptable, by either political party, period.”

Empty words from an empty suit.

This is the correct answer.
It’s truly not “whataboutism”, and I personally don’t buy “whataboutism” in this either.
It’s wholly disingenuous if one were to look at what is happening in the overall and ignore … if you think criminality or corruption is something that moves a needle, but your own case is bent on partisan spin, you’re missing the point Sen. Durbin is making here too.

“Sure it is. We just don’t know how much yet. The political body bags are still being loaded”.

On target.

Sen. Durbin is a savvy veteran. Corruption at this level can be a drag on the ticket. In any other state it would be decimating. This is Illinois and a majority of seats lie in areas that President Trump does not play well. Add in the rebuilding ILGOP post Rauner with very little resources and you start to negate some of the corruption affect. But, the story hasn’t been completely written on corruption here just yet. Which makes the Senators comment very appropriate.

The fact that this question has to be asked, is really the problem.
Of course, corruption is bad. Did they expect him to say “No big deal, it’s fake news”?

Then has Senator Durbin disassociated himself from The Laborers Union, and those who were involved in the corruption and fraud in the ACHA?

That’s rich, Senator Durbin….sheesh.
- Steve - Tuesday, Nov 26, 19 @ 12:34 pm:
It almost sounds like Senator Durbin has regret for associating with some politicians.

Not that there is a relationship but I wonder how many Illinois politicians have been found guilty of corruption since Durbin started in politics Lots of unacceptable behavior over the years
- Blue Dog Dem - Tuesday, Nov 26, 19 @ 2:40 pm:
Durbin keeps this statesmanship up and he will be added to Mt. Rushmore.
