I need to apologize. I said I never wanted to hear anything about him again. But this is long overdue and worth sharing.
Now I never want to hear anything about him again.
- Practical Politics - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:00 am:
Hey, he’s got his own podcast! The management of WLS 890 AM are his enablers (again).
- Cheryl44 - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:00 am:
What, did they forget to do this until now?
- OurMagician - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:02 am:
Now Rod is plotting his next move,a corner tap on the NW side called “Dis Barred” featuring Dose Beers, Dat Burger and Deese Golden Onion Rings for regular guyz like Rod.
- Mr. K. - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:04 am:
Oof.
- Fav Human - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:05 am:
What, did they forget to do this until now?
They expected him to be in jail for a few more years.
- Anon E Moose - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:05 am:
He did some really disgraceful things that completely merit being disbarred.
- Ron Burgundy - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:06 am:
-What, did they forget to do this until now?-
He’s been suspended since 2011, so there was no rush. Now that he’s out, he got his hearing and they made it official.
- Ron Burgundy - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:15 am:
–Hey, he’s got his own podcast!–
He does know something about being recorded.

Just curious - how many Illinois General Assembly members have been disbarred over the years? Also, it would be great to see the Supreme Court’s justification for why Governor Blagojevich was disbarred - no money changed hands, no deals were made.
- Ray Gun - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:27 am:
Lighting Rod is coming soon on WLS. The new netflix doc is worth a watch.

The report of the hearing board that they approved can be found on the ARDC website.

He’s a convicted felon. Your argument is tantamount to trying to hire an FBI agent to wack someone only to claim that no crime was committed because the target is still walking around.
- Donnie Elgin - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:47 am:
start the five-year clock for reinstatement
Rule 767. Reinstatement
(a) Petition. An attorney who has been disbarred, … may file his verified petition with the clerk of the court seeking to be reinstated …within a period of five years after the date of an order of disbarment,
- Ron Burgundy - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:50 am:
Reinstatement is a very uphill battle with a very low success rate. It’s an onerous process that basically requires demonstrating good character, remorse, and restitution. Good luck with that.
- Frumpy white guy - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 11:50 am:
Good.
- Sayitaintso - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 12:08 pm:
“The new Netflix doc is worth a watch”….whether its pro, con, (special emphasis here), or whatever…..I wouldn’t waste a second feeding that diseased ego.
- Practical Politics - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 12:17 pm:
Blagojevich never bothered to contest the ARDC complaint. Move on.
- Mama - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 12:24 pm:
Who owns WLS 890 AM?
- Rudy’s teeth - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 12:25 pm:
So Blago opens a saloon called Cevapi on the Corner. It would be golden.

The Supreme Court follows the law. They don’t owe you any justification.

I was surprised by Rod’s affinity for big cats.

AMEN.
- NIU Grad - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 1:27 pm:
“There are numerous factors that aggravate Respondent’s misconduct. As a former Assistant State’s Attorney and elected official, Respondent was well aware of his obligation to uphold the law, and, as governor, he took an oath to faithfully discharge the duties of the office of governor to the best of his ability. Instead of doing so, he sought to further his own interests by engaging in a pattern of dishonest and deceptive conduct. While Respondent, by his attorney, acknowledged the fact of his convictions, he has not acknowledged that his conduct was wrongful or expressed any remorse. His failure to appear for his disciplinary hearing demonstrates a lack of respect for the disciplinary process and the legal profession. We have considered that Respondent has no prior discipline, but this minimal mitigation does not impact our recommendation.”

If you are looking for something to watch “Trial by Media” on Netflix does an episode on Blago. Interesting to be brought back in time. Not exactly a Last Dance, but watchable. You make a cameo in the episode Rich?
- Froganon - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 1:42 pm:
Great news. Nice work. May we never hear from or about him again
- anonymous - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 2:17 pm:
The Netflix docuseries never mentions either the Racetrack or Children’s Hospital shakedowns. Only mention of wrongdoing was Senate seat. Very disappointing.
- Annoyed - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 2:21 pm:
So is Rod going on the dole (at our collective expense)? Rather have a unconventional punishment where he could lawyer for a non-profit for $40k year.
- Rudy’s teeth - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 2:52 pm:
Since Blago loves a microphone, he could be a spokesman for “your friends at Vrdolyak Law” commercials.
- Huh? - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 3:04 pm:
What a waste of time, energy and money. To go through law school, sit for the bar, and pass it. And then be so careless in one’s conduct to jeopardize that accomplishment.
I hold a professional license and numerous professional certifications. I have spent too much time, money, blood, sweat, and tears to do something that would cause my regulating board to seize my license. In my case, if I were to lose my license, the certifications would be withdrawn.

The wheels of Justice roll slowly. This should have happened before he reported to prison.
- Chatham Resident - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 5:09 pm:
I thought he was disbarred ever since Day One of prison.

==Rather have a unconventional punishment where he could lawyer for a non-profit for $40k year.==
Or for one of those sham law firms which always advertise on the likes of Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, and other trashy daytime talk shows.
- A Jack - Monday, May 18, 20 @ 5:13 pm:
The name for Blagojevich’s new show should be “Golden Slumbers.”
