That’s the very first thing that comes to my mind too whenever I hear her name. She could be reporting on puppies, and that pool is still the first thing that I would associate with her name.
I’m certainly not an Amy Jacobson fan, but the differences between journalists,media personalities, bloggers, opinion writers, etc has been blurred over the last 15 years. It would be better if it weren’t staff of elected officials deciding who gets access for questions. Gotta be a better way.

I wouldn’t necessarily call GS a journalist, but since he left politics in 1996 (almost a quarter of a century ago) when was the last time he showed up at a rally? I wouldn’t want Michael Moore there either. He isn’t media.
Amy Jacobson is an activist (which is fine) and you can’t have it both ways.
Her behavior is embarrassing and it is a joke that she wants to then participate in a media briefing.
Maybe they could also ban the reporters who asked the same questions–and get the same responses–every day earlier this month about will there still be Lollapalooza and the State Fairs, after the Governor explicitly stated that large festivals are unlikely until there’s a vaccine.
First, thank you Rick Pearson for standing up for real journalists. You are a class act. Second, all the right-wing snowflakes and their “whatabout-isms” who don’t practice journalism can be the first in line at the Kenosha Olive Garden celebrating real freedom. With breadsticks.
I’m fairly confident that Proft and Jacobson gave some consideration to this when they decided to have her speak at the rally. In fact this may have likely been their desired result. They can now engage in their whataboutism and claim that Pritzker is looking to silence his critics.
