* Press release…
State Rep. Emanuel Chris Welch released the following statement Wednesday regarding the Special Investigating Committee:
“The Committee is currently awaiting documents requested from ComEd, which the company has indicated they are working to provide within the coming weeks. Both Democrats and Republicans believe these documents will provide critical context to our work. While we face a surge in COVID cases across the state and new mitigation guidelines, holding a hearing without these requested documents would not only be unproductive but also an unnecessary risk for members, staff and our communities at large. Additionally, Fidel Marquez has declined to participate in this Committee’s work, further limiting what business the Committee can conduct without documents. Therefore, the Committee will postpone its hearing originally scheduled for this Thursday. Once members have received and reviewed ComEd’s documents, we will promptly reconvene with the appropriate safety measures in place.”

Stop protecting Madigan, House Dems.
We saw yesterday what a failure Madigan was at protecting several of his vulnerable members and a failure at achieving Democratic victories for the Supreme Court, Congressional toss-up districts, and the fair tax amendment. The IL Dem party chair responsible for these failures should be fired for them.
We also saw what an anchor Madigan was on several Democratic candidates, especially Downstate, and it is ridiculous that there should be a political scandal cost to any Democrat simply taking money or support from the Illinois Democratic Party.
Do you House Dems think Madigan’s scandal money is going to protect you against the coming 2010-like voter backlash to COVID shutdowns, spending cuts, and tax increases where the Dem base is likely divided between left and center without Trump to unify against?
Best to cut the cord on MJM now, get a newer younger party chair, and move the party forward so there is one less headwind to face for 2022.
This cycle I have been very impressed by Wisconsin’s Dem Party chair. With social media savvy and creativity he managed to raise a lot of money for his state party through fun Zoom fundraisers bringing together casts of pop culture faves like The Princess Bride and West Wing to raise a ton of grassroots money online instead of through lobbyists and clouted contractors. What a concept.

Here I thought I’d be like the 60th person to comment on this important information.
Where are all Raunerites to be mortified?
Will Wehrli attend or will he be packing his office?

The Democrat in change canceled the hearing about his boss? I’m stunned. But maybe the Feds will weigh in on the matter; in a different tribunal.

Good summary by hisgirlfriday.
If Madigan retires, they might reconsider the hearings. Just saying.

Well said, hisgirlfriday -
You as well, Birds. Some don’t have interest in posts about the conduct of those with “D” following their names.

No press release from Wehrli?
No words from Demmer?
The election must be over.
