As a state employee that leaves for work before 7AM daily, it was bad enough having to leave in twilight the last couple weeks of October when we had early cold stretches (and having to defrost my car as I have to park outside at my apartment). And seeing schoolchildren already up to catch buses in the dark at 7AM. And reminding myself if we had daylight savings time year-round, it would be dark almost to 8AM by December.
If we go to a year-round time, I prefer year-round Central Standard Time. Not a fan of Sen. Manar’s daylight savings bill.
Bit of good news, our young family friend with COVID, who was air lifted to StL and was on a ventilator for 45 days, is now off. She may have heart and walking issues the rest of life but she survived.
Chaz, not all state agencies (outside of Corrections) have been remote since March. Secretary of State offices and employees have been entirely back since June 1st. There’s a lot more Stratton Building employees back in the office in recent months. Also, someone posted on here the other day that despite the surge in COVID cases, that at least parts of DCFS were back in the office now?
@BTO2 -So glad to hear your good news. “She may have heart and walking issues the rest of life ” - I wish people who think this is not a big deal for younger people would pay attention to this.
Still feeling like Tony LaRussa should get the heave ho. Not just for the DUI but for the lack of evolution to the 21st century. DUI nice cover for them realizing that the modern player is just that - modern. I don’t envy Tim Anderson rn.
Yep. Tony LaRussa still the manager…. This Sox fan will be watching and rooting for the Cubs most likely. My life began as a Cubs fan, maybe it will end as a Cubs fan. That was good enough for Bill Veeck.

The fact that Potato has a button he can push to ask to go outside makes me feel like a terrible pet owner.

I have a feeling the Candy Dogood Dogs already live beyond pampered.
I know just how Potato feels.
